Central Machinery (Harbor Freight) Portable T/S Impressions

FWIW, I bought one for "buzzing" the small pieces of firewood for the
smallest Morso stove. And for whatever else it proved suitable for.
For $120, simple-enough experiment.

Model is 45804.

Motor is the strong point. :') Capable of full depth rips in black
locust at full 3" extension, with less than razor-sharp carbide blade.

Guard/splitter is joke- tedious setup. Fence decent, but "anchors" at
only front edge.

Dust-collection is a joke, with vacuum port. Once you install the
perforated sheet-metal piece at the bottom, you have a big, leaky
dustbin.

Blade alignment was horribly off, as received. Fully 1/8" closer to
right miter-slot at rear than at front. Totally unacceptable. Couple
of .010" shims under one motor attachment bolt got it acceptably close
for some dimension cuts that don't warrant hauling out a serious t/s.

Unless you're prepared to play with blade-alignment, forget it.

HTH,
J
