stain

Is it possible to stain over existing polyurethane (flooring) or is there
any way to tint the poly? Floor is in great shape and was just hoping to
change color.
Thanks in advance for reply

'Stain' is intended/designed to be absorbed _into_ the wood.

There is an obvious problem with that approach, if there is something
already in place that has 'sealed' the wood surface.

"Something" added on top of the existing finish does *not* have to be 'clear'.
Caveat: one can go 'darker', with little effort; going 'lighter' is *very*
difficult using this method.

_What_ to use, and *how* to install (i.e. existing surface prep, and applying
the 'something') depend greatly on what already exists, and precisely what
the 'something' is that you are trying to lay on top of it.

Best advice: _test_ somewhere 'inconspicuous' *FIRST*
