Free book - Carbide Saw Manual

Lowell Freeborn of Freeborn Tool wrote this. I got his permission to
put it in electronic form. Neither one of us charges for it.

It is an excellent book on the basics of what makes a good carbide saw
blade. Thanks to Tim Cook of Cook's Sharpening I can send it in pdf
as well as word.

Easiest way is to email me at:

Thanks,
Tom

P.S. No trick - I'm just sharing this the way other guys share
woodworking plans.

with something like 50 pictures and charts.

It's the same one. I saw the post asking what ATB meant and thought I
would offer it again.

You won't succeed here, as most servers will block it. Best would be to
post a link to downloadable files on a web server, second best would be
a post to alt.binaries.pictures.woodworking.

If you're emailing, though, I'd appreciate getting the PDF. Thanks!

In fact, if you don't have web space available, I could make the PDF
available for d/l on my space.

Or abpw instead. Lots of news servers will block binary posts to
non-binary groups like this one.

Is this the same one that was offered back around
Halloween of last year? Or a newer, updated version?

Tom asked me to post my impressions of this manual.
(He sent me the Word version.)

I don't intend to manufacture or grind any carbide saw
blades which may be the reason for this manual
copyrighted in 1977.

That said, I found the manual very useful. It
broadened my understanding of table saw blades. I own
a Forrester II and several anonymous blades and now I
have additional knowledge to recognize the differences
between them. I can better select my next saw blade.

Tom, thanks for making the manual available. (again)
I'm just a tad past the novice level but now I know a
little more and maybe I'm a little less dangerous.

No, it would not be appropriate to post that type of file in this
group. The best thing to do is make it available on the web and post a
link to it here.

Hmmm. It is 2431KB in Word format.

All you have to do is send Tom an email telling him what format you would
like--pdf or Word.

I thought of adding the %20 but figured anyone who wants to mess with
sharp items needs to be able to do something for themselves.
