Bosch 1591EVSK vs Festool Trion PS300 Jig Saw

Which is better? No experience in either but in the market to purchase one.

I don't know about the Festool, but I own the Bosch... and I don't see how a
jigsaw could possibly be better. It is a joy to use, particularly when your
last one was a POS from B&D.

I haven't used the Festool, but from my own experience with the
top-handle and everything I've ever read about jigsaws, the new Bosch
are top-of-the-line. Never heard anything bad about either brand,
other than Festool's high prices. There is a review in the Nov. issue
of Pop Woodworking that you can download from
http://www.popularwoodworking.com/features/tooltest.asp
This review gives the Festool the editor's choice, but this was before
the 1590/1 came out, and one of their main gripes with the 1584 was the
tool change, which was updated with the 1590/1 saws.
Unless you really want the removeable cord on the Festool, I can't
imagine you'd be disappointed with either of these tools (read lots of
previous posts here on the 1590/1591), so why not save the C-note and
go with the Bosch... Check coastaltool.com for a good deal on the 1591.
No affiliation blah blah blah.

He's likely a tool junkie like the rest of us!

Contractors need tools all the time, and are always looking to see if there
is something better available. Their budgets may differ from our hobbyist
budgets, too. Particularly if they are good at their businesses.

My limited experience with Festool is that their tools are first class.
I have not used their jigsaw, but an acquaintance of mine has. He says
the dust collection on it is just amazing.
I have used the Bosch, albeit a 20-year old, and found the old barrel
grip much better that the new barrel grip.

I bought the Milwaukee. I just love that thing. Good price too.
Made in Germany...go figgur.

I also looked at the Festool, but at close to 2x the price, it was a
quick look!

I find it hard to imagine how it could be better than the Bosch. But,
maybe? Does any local tool supplier have demo units?
