I got around to building the drill press table from the "The Ultimate
Jigs and Fixtures Handbook" that you get free with a subscription to
Woodsmith Magazine. It was super easy to build, I loved the method for
building the T-Track (You route a 5/8" dado in the base plywood, then
glue hardboard over it. Then route a 1/4" groove top dead center over
the existing dado.) The replaceable inserts are also a wonderful
thing.
Things I did different than the plans:
1. I used a 45 degree bevel on the inserts instead of 15 degrees. I
didn't pay attention to the directions is the reason, but I figure 45
degrees will be easier to remember when I have to make more.
2. I used 1/4" plywood instead of hardboard. I had it laying around
3. I used machine bolts which I counter sunk into the top and attached
with wing nuts on the bottom rather than T-nuts placed between the
base and lamination. I didn't have t-nuts laying around.
If you have a round cast table on your drill press, I highly recommend
this as a quick, cheap, and easy upgrade.
You really don't need the plans to build it, but if you want the
plans, I found them at http://store.yahoo.com/plansnow/dril.html
I'll post on saturday after I get back from the business trip. I'm also
planning on posting my Dog crate/end table.

You lost me. What is "top dead center"? Can you post a picture?

Never mind. I figured it out by looking at the small picture at the link you
posted. It became obvious when I saw the hardboard you mentioned was the
size of the whole top. I thought you were gluing a strip of hardboard over a
5/8" dado and it didn't make sense to me.
