Here are a couple pics of the crown molding job I mentioned in a
previous post.
There was low light and it was my phone, so the pics aren't great.
But you can at least see what I was talking about and that I matched it
up pretty well.
Thanks for all the input on that previous thread!

Hey Mike - what's with the blue painter's tape in the first pic?

I think that's how they "mark flaws" (to address).

That's how I've always marked studs/joists for nailing.
That way there are no pencil marks on the wall.
In this case they are painting the walls, but I'm in the habit of doing
it that way.

That's an intuitive guess given the appearance of filler in those
locations in the second picture. :-)
However, as I replied to Mike, I use masking tape to mark studs/joists
for nailing instead of using pencil marks.

Yes, Thank you for your reply . That's one of the ways I mark my
drywall flaws. ; )

Thank you very much, Robert.
The coved crown portion wasn't an exact match and took quite a bit of
finagling on the interior corners, but it turned out fine. It would've
been a much more tedious job if it was stained trim. The exterior
corner was a perfect fit, since it was the same piece of crown, so that
was nice.
I told them I would come back in about a week to re-caulk and putty what
shrinks. The wife said she would do but I insisted that it was part of
the price for the job. She said, "well, we're going to be calling you
for other stuff anyway."
