http://www.PacificArtisans.net launches today.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Joseph and I am with PacificArtisans.net, a new online
Artisan community that is interested in building a community and not
just another online catalogue. We just recently launched and would
really like to reach out to fellow Artisans and tell them about this
community.

We would appreciate it if you would visit the site, and give us
feedback on what you liked and what you didn't like about the site.

We are always looking for new Artisans to join the community. If you
are an Artisan who is interested in joining the community, please feel
free to contact me at [email protected]

How does he differ from others on the wreck who post links to their websites
where they sell their woodworking?
IMHO, I wouldn't consider this guy a spammer. Frankly, if I had a website
( I do not ) where I was selling my woodworking wares, I'd post on the
wreck. Seems perfectly logical to me.

To me, a spammer is the guy with the "get rich quick" scheme or "Get laid
quick" whichever -and the like.

I think a rush to judgment on this one.

Just MHO,

Vic

Remember - it's not about content. It's about consent. If you really
need a mortgage, or ink jet refill, and you get e-mail promoting these
products - DO NOT BUY FROM THEM even if you DO need what they sell.

Everytime some sucker buys from a spammer, you enable the spammer to
keep on spamming.

If they post woodworking related stuff to this newsgroup, and nowhere
else, it's not bulk. If they post woodworking stuff everywhere - it's bulk.

The posting history is the key. It tells you if it's bulk or not.

I thought that was at least marginally ontopic. When I clicked, it
looked an *awful* lot like an online catalog, and not a community
(contrary to the original poster's, um, slogan.)

Hence the reason I called them a spammer. Look at the users posting
history. The only posts I've found have been touting the website in
various newsgroups.

No rush judgement. Look at the posting history on all newsgroups. The
only thing he's posted has been touting his website trying to sell
stuff. Regular posters in here who contribute to the Wreck, I don't
consider spamming, as they contribute to the newsgroup. He hasn't
contributed to the Wreck or any other newsgroup other than his spamming
about his website.

It's funny how most spammers of newsgroups seem to love to post from
google groups. Google doesn't care when you report them.
