Recommendations for wood and woodworking supplies in Boston area?

I am starting to "graduate" from the Home Depot and Sears level of
supply for my DIY and wordworking projects.

Any suggestions for good places to buy wood, woodworking tools, and
associated hardware in the Boston area? (preferably in the near
Western suburbs)

Thanks

Looks like you've already gotten answers about wood. For woodworking
tools, you can try the mail order or web order places like
Lee Valley tools (they have a nice catalog, too).

If you need some exotic plywoods a great place in Somerville is
http://www.boulterplywood.com/.

There is a very good lumberyard in Ashland too if you are anywhere near
there (Ashland Lumber). They will even deliver for free if you are close
which is great if you need to buy 4 x 8 sheets and don't have a truck.

For wood look in the Yellow Pages under Lumber- Hardwood.

For some small quantities of wood and quality tools try

http://www.rockler.com/retail/display_region.cfm?&region=7 , 2 stores in
Boston

and

, 1 store in Boston.

Check the back of Fine Woodworking Magazine. There are several major
places that advertise regularily that can't be more than a Mass Pike
exit or two from you.
