I just did a search for "Wood" related newsgroups.
Apparently, one "Montgomery Wood" is quite the scoundrel, with a few
dozen ng's dedicated to him. You can gain quite a lot of insight into
his life by such a search.
Also, "barbecue" turned up a few interesting ng's:
