The Bosch people were a Dog & Pony show at our local Home Despot. Free
donuts and coffee (the parking lot was full of cop cars).
A very sharp demonstrator answered all my questions and I bought the
Bosch Laser Tape.
That thing is a real laser measuring device, not to be confused with
those sonic ones with laser pointers built in.
For a countertop guy, it is handier than a pocket on a shirt. And dead-
nuts within 1/16"
I checked it out against my 100 foot chain ( yes, temp compensation
applied) and my 25-foot Fat Max...right on the money.
Reads out in ft-in, ft-decimal and metric. It does sq-ft calculations
based on stored measurements, and cubes based on three dimensions.
Finally a way to measure a countertop without knocking Mrs. Green's
potted plants off the windowsill.
Annnnnd, also a way to scribe the back wall by putting the device on a
tripod and a compass rose... simple math after that to create a .dxf
I LIKE this thing.

a 12-foot piece of 2"x2" x1/4" aluminum angle and slide the unit along
it taking measurements quickly and accurately.
That's a bit of a pain, but the vernier transit base would work... a $
120.00 solution to a $ 10K laser template solution?
Needs work. CAN work.

Oh...I just read the model number in the subject line, so I think I
have an inkling.

Scribing based on it...? That seems like a bit of a stretch,
Stretch. Your angles would have to be more accurate than the
rangefinder. Are you talking about setting up transit with vernier
angles? Elaborate please.
Which model is it and what did it cost?
