This doesn't have anything to do with woodworking, but it was
nonetheless interesting in a watching a slow-motion train-wreck kind
of way.

The trouble is that there are conservatives who are no better than the
clerk in that video.

I see in various fora, with considerable regularity, improbable
actions and attitudes ascribed to all Republicans or all Democrats.
"All Republicans drive huge SUVs just to be wasting gas" for example,
which totally ignores the ones who drive electric cars. "All
Democrats hate babies" which ignores the ones with eight kids and wish
they had more. This suggests that there are people, such as that
clerk, who get all of their information from questionable sources and
never venture outside a circle of like-minded people.

FWIW the media always picks and chooses clips to satisfy their desire to
give a sensational and biased view.

On the Today Show this morning.
A story about Marijuana being legalized in Colorado and the influx of
tax dollars for the state.

The story shows a chart of Marijuana use going from something like 14%
in 2016 to 16% from in 2017. The comparison was intended to set of
alarms as the "National Average" was only 9.5%.

What they don't mention is that the majority of the "National Average"
includes states that have not legalized the use of Marijuana.

So while Colorado usage has increased about 2~3% from 2016 to 2017 the
fact that it is now legal in Colorado and compared to the national
average, where the majority of states use is not legal, that increase is
surprisingly low IMHO. Basically the state that has legalized the use
is only a few percentage points greater than the national average where
use in many states it in not yet legal.

And really? Do they think everyone using Marijuana illegally will
report use???

Yes, this is America in 2019. A time when anyone can accuse some one
for something that did not happen as reported. It is unfortunate that
people like this have watered down the seriousness of those that are
"actually Me2 victims.

AND WHY on earth does some thing that some one did 20-30 years ago, that
was perfectly acceptable and not against the law, become a reason to
ostracize that person today?

Exactly!!! This story stunk from the beginning. Who does not let the
authorities look at your phone if it will help solve the crime? I
understand this guy is being written out of the show and he needed the

the start and I'm sure the police did too. While he wanted an
investigation, he would not turn his phone over to the police.

They found the receipt to buy the rope at one of the brother's apartment
but he is still denying a hoax. He should be made to pay back the
police cost.

And I heard Texas found 95,000 illegal aliens registered to vote. I'd
imagine California has a lot more than that, and that they (California)
want to make non-citizens eligible to vote. I strongly believe the
Dem/socialist party wants to register everyone they can, and doesn't
really want them to vote, they will vote for them.

The big problem for those thieves is they often get ridiculous voter
turnout rates in order to defeat the republicans, particularly in areas
where the "voters"don't know or care who is running and spend all their
time trying to survive, get drugs or booze and so on.

A number of voting districts have had more people vote than are
registered to vote, ergo the maniacal efforts to register voters and
stop voter ID. A couple of voter districts in PA had 100% votes for
Obummer, and more people voting than were registered. I'm sure this is
not as rare as people think, but these "voters" were just too freaking
dumb to make sure it wasn't so obvious.

If true it shows that criminals are stupid. The purpose of the cut
and paste is to avoid the possibility of identifying the source by
matching to handwriting or to the signature of a typewriter or
printer. Now, doing a pasteup without getting any DNA in the mix may
be difficult, but that's another issue.

Making something that looks similar using an inkjet or laser printer
is pointless as nearly all such printers include steganographic
signatures in the printout.
