That's all you really know isn't it, how to curse and swear? And the
really sad part is that you do that poorly too. There's no logic or
reason to your discourse, just a pile of cursing and abusive language.
I'd call you senile, but you're long past that level of interaction.

What does it feel like to be the poster boy for lack of education and
how to be low in life? Your family whom I feel sorry for, must cringe
at the thought of you. I can just envision it during the holidays.

<snipped all>

Hi there Buttercup, from the subject, I figured you'd head the
list.

Hard to understand just what you're trying to say there. You just
list a bunch of people who have, and not, had military service. I'm
guessing the Republicans and Democrats are all politicians. Then those
that're left are not. Are you impling that they "all" disrespect our
serviceman, and women, in Iraq? You even list Ronald Reagan, but he
seems to have died. That alone makes the credibility of your list
suspect. What'd you do, just copy someone else's list?

I "was" amused by you listing the infamous Mass Senator Kennedy's
two years of military service - he couldn't even do that right.
http://www.nndb.com/people/623/000023554/

You don't even have to ask, I spent time in Nam. And, no I do not
disrespect any of our servicepeople in Iraq, nor any of the other
military over there - just so it's clear.

I love you stop feeding the trolls, you guy's keep me pretty busy. Going to
War and Dying are two of many missions of the Military. If we discount the
Iraq and the War on Error, you have a lot of other issues. National Guard
Troops and Reservist taking a good brunt of the fight. Equipping our
soldiers in direct action with equipment circa Korean War and Vietnam.
Un-Armored Hummers being used as APC's. If you look majority of these deaths
aren't actual combat but IED's, Christ you can't even die valiantly charging
the Muslim machine gun nest with grenade pin in your teeth. Instead sitting
in their GM with the tunes and the AC on swooping down the road and going
up in smoke without so much as a shot being fired..................Sad Waste

You're partialy correct. If I were a reservist, I would truly gripe about
being activated. Activation never happens when it is convenient. After a
long period of peace, many people will join the reserves for benefits, to
wear a uniform, etc. I think many have a secret desire to be a warrior,
but believe it will never happen. When it happens most acquit themselves
very well. Don't know what you are trying to say. Are reservists a
griping bunch of malcontents that feel sorry for themselves? Look at the
history of reserve outfits in WWII, Korea, and Nam. Military people
gripe, it keeps us aware of the situation.
I joined the military when I was eighteen. I didn't really want to go
to war, but wanted to get my life on a different track and a judge
thought that would be a good idea (there wasn't a war when I enlisted,
but six months later there was). Sandy environment doesn't sound too bad
(but where I was, water was very plentiful). We couldn't get a 'heart by
going on sick call (ala Kerry), corpsmen made the call 'Nuff of that
(the devil made me do it).
Don't sell reservists short. Unlike regulars, they have a very
mainstream life; just like real civilians. They buy houses, have
children, start businesses, change jobs, etc. They don't get up every
morning in a barracks with the next four years planned for them. They
give up a hell of a lot more than we regulars ever did. We knew what was
in the offing. A reservist goes to drills and doesn't really think about
activation because 'it probably won't happen'. When it happens they and
their families live with it.
Served with some reservists. They were the same Marines.

Not sure if it's you or not. You're certainly not showing any more
imagination than before, so I'm thinking you're the same person. On the
other hand, you are using caps and pnctuation. Not that I'm really
interested, it's still typical troll stuff - dull, boring, and "nots" -
not interesting, not amusing, not original, and so on. It has been
mildly entertaining, but not enough to merit continuing this dialog.

Stop feeding the troll, and maybe he'll crawl back under his bridge and stop
bothering people....
Then again, perhaps not - thank God for 'kill-file'!

A question for the more intellectual patrons of this group:
Have people that join the Armed Forces (the majority obviously purely for
the various benefits available), forgotten that if one voluntarily joins the
military one may actually be required to wage war at some stage?

I have just spent 2 years in a certain rather sandy environment, being paid
by Uncle Sam to assist in "the war against terror". Nearly all the
servicemen and women that I spoke with expressed dismay that, after signing
up for (amongst others) primarily educational and medical benefits, they
actually had to go to war.
Truly incredible, as far as I am concerned. Another example of people who
are unwilling to make a sacrifice for the country that has given them
opportunities unavailable anywhere else in the world.

Back to lurk-mode.....
