Jesada ist Kapoot

I placed an order online for a set of jointer blades with Jesada in late
September. Got an email confirmation right away that the order was received.
Well, a month later I still have not received the order. I try to call, the
phone is disconnected. I email, I get no response. I checked my credit card
statement and I see no charge. Well, I guess they're not in business
anymore. Having wasted a month waiting, now I must place an order with
somebody else and hope Jesada doesn't ship the duplicates. Jeez.

They had a pretty poor booth setup at the Minneapolis Woodworkers Show
about a week and a half ago. It looked like they were selling
leftovers. Also, the guy manning the booth didn't know anything about
their products or even how to read their price list.

However, I think that they were taking orders. I don't suppose they
would do that if they were going belly up and knew about it. Would
they?

Hey, there are people whining about being harvested and they don't even
have email addresses in their posts.

Hello forum members,

I wanted to take this opportunity to clear the air regarding any
questions relating to my company, Infinity Tools.

My father, Carlo, sold his business, Jesada Tools, about 3-1/2 years
ago. The new owners did not have much luck with the business and ran
into trouble. I don't think they are in business any longer but I have
not received confirmation of this.

After the sale of Jesada I worked in another industry until I realized
I missed woodworking. This is when Corey Spann who had started
Infinity Tools about one year earlier approached me. Corey wanted to
pursue other opportunities and I wanted to get back into the
manufacture and design of woodcutting tools. This is how I became
involved with Infinity.

Infinity Tools is NOT Jesada resurrected. When Infinity was first
started, a few items were made to our spec in the Jesada factory,
which was the extent of our relationship. This arraignment was no
different than our relationship with all of our other suppliers.

Some of the Infinity Tools products resemble the Jesada products
because I have designed the entire line according to the engineering
that produced the quality at Jesada. ALL Infinity products are
DESIGNED and ENGINEERED in the USA. Infinity products are coated with
a Silver Teflon, not White and we do not sell any other bits except
our own.

We currently have products made to my specification in the U.S.A.,
Italy, and Taiwan. I provide design; engineering and material spec's
for all of our products, regardless of which partner factory we use.

If any of you have any questions regarding Jesada, Infinity Tools or
routing please call me directly at 1-877-872-2487 and I would be happy
to speak with you.

Also, If you are interested in reading some Infinity product reviews
please visit our home page and follow the links, www.infinitytools.com

If you would like to read an in depth article regarding our company

Robin, as compensation for all the "price gouging" you've been doing
here in "Our Home and Native Land" I'd settle for a store here in
Saskatoon. But don't tell SWMBO I've been asking... She gets nervous

Thanks, David, for posting here. Your father, Carlo, posted
periodically on the old Badger Pond forum. It's a shame he sold
Jesada, because while he was running the store, service was excellent
and the bits enjoyed a good reputation.

According to everything I've read including the lawsuit, however,
Carlo worked for CMT, not Freud (not ruling out the possibility that
he might have worked for Freud at some point), and as a result of the
lawsuit, started Jesada. Actually, as I understand it, the settlement
of the suit caused him to change the name from CMT USA (or something
like that) and the color from orange to white.

It's my recollection that you are the DA in Jesada.

What I find distressing, however, in all of this is that you are in
the Tampa Bay area. According to the article you cited, you do or did
business with the post-Carlo Jesada. Yet there doesn't seem to be
anyone willing to step up and say, "yes, Jesada is in
trouble/gone/reorganizing" or "no, Jesada is fine; they just aren't
answering phones or email, or delivering."

The trouble is, everyone seems to dance around the question of whether
Jesada is delivering consumer product or not.

Whether you like it or not, the Venditto name is linked with Jesada;
and their performance, rightly or wrongly, is associated with whatever
business you run. That's why the question keeps coming up.

You are free to make your own decisions about how to run your
business, but a clear, distinct statement completely disassociating
you from Jesada would certainly ease the uncertaintly felt by many
potential Infinity customers.

I hope you continue to keep in touch here.

I couldn't give a flying ferret's ass about your company, whether

You've just email spammed me. Worse than that, I strongly suspect

He must not have gone too deep. I post here regularly with an unmunged
email address and no spam filters (unless Compuserve is doing so on

Andy,

Last time I checked, Taiwan was generally east of China. Seperated by a body
of water and deeply held difference in polotics and the populations right to
self direct. Taiwan and China also have vastly different manufaturing
capabilties when it comes to quality and precision.

Infinity and Jesada are/were owned by the same holding company at one
time. I spoke with the guy from Infinity a few weeks ago and he says
that the last he heard that Jesada was selling out their inventory at
the woodworking shows. Infinity used to buy there bits from Jesada,
but now buy them from other manufacturers around the world. Infinity
has jointer blades by rhe way.

Do you think your post is appropriate for someone who posts here as a
representative of your company?

I would have expected a more adult attitude from Lee.

When the yanks get cranky, they blame Canadians - we're used

Yeah, but the guy doing the lightning strikes is Canadian, so how does that fit
your claim?

Umm... I heard-tell in this NG they got up and in with another company, like bought-out
but, I don't remember who they are now. DAGS in this NG for " Jesada " and you'll find
that post/reply. It was only like within two weeks ago.

C'mon Andy. You know damned well that Taiwanese toolmakers
are light years ahead of their Chinese equivalents. (But
the Chinese are up-and-coming.)

While Taiwan is now technically "owned" by China, distinctions
do apply.

Jeez Robin seems to be a lightning rod for some folks lately. I didn't
read anything into what Robin said or how he said it other than that he
was spammed and feels the addresses were generated from the group.

If you are referring to the commentary: "flying ferret's ass about your
company..." It was written by Andy, not Robin.

You point out something about the spam that I hadn't considered. If
Infinity wasn't spamming and knew the recipients of their mailing do you
think they'd send it to one of the largest retailers of woodworking
tools on the continent?

If it looks like spam, smells like spam and tastes like spam...

The one where you proudly claim
"We do not have products made in China."

So where's Taiwan ?

At least he is here to listen to complaints and his bits to seem to cut wood
pretty good. Give the guy a break and maybe he will be a good source of
info here.

Trent,

I'm not sure what could have been more adult. He said Hi, nice salutation.
He did equate the situation as funny, so maybe that violates your sense of
"adult attitude", but even this is within the bounds of normal business
conversation (see alternate definitions of the word funny.) Maybe its
bacause he proclaimed himself correct. Maybe that is boastful and violates
the sense of "adult attitude".

All in all, I don't see your point. Robin is well in bounds of adult
attitude as defined by me, we'll have to wait for the ruling from the
international body on this one. (Note I ran it by the US ruling body and
they said it was fine, but because of Robin's location we'll have to wait on
the international ruling.)

1 Point Robin.
