I sent a won't-hold-charge battery for my Bosch 12V cordless drill to
PrimeCell for rebuilding. It came back quickly, and after charging
seems to be working fine. (I'll have to run through several
use/recharge cycles to see more.)
But the interesting thing is that I couldn't see anything on the case
indicating that it was opened! It certainly wasn't cut open with a
Dremel.

With your post as inspiration, I looked more carefully and in better
light. My pack was indeed cut open - about 1/4" below the place where
the pack transitions to the drill handle. It looks to be a very smooth
narrow cut - more like a sharp blade than a Dremel cutting wheel. There
isn't any glue visible.

My Dewalt packs were cut open at the joint where they enter the drill. They
have come apart twice each so far. I just re-glue them. They do hold a
charge well.
