Sorry, but you're crediting me with too much cleverness. I really just meant that my neighborhood is less dense than Astoria. Forest Hills is close nonetheless.

Where do you live?
I'll guess Queens.
If I got that right, let me try to narrow it down.

All together now, guys: You can never have too many clamps!

Actually, the clamp part looks like one of Santa's red boots. Did you
get the other boot?

Ready?
It was the bushes outside of your garage.
Having grown up in Queens, and having traveled far and wide, I can say
that you don't see those short, square cut bushes in too many other
places. I've trimmed a set of those bushes hundreds of times around my
5' x 10' front yard in Flushing.
All right...I'll admit that the other pictures of NYC helped, but it
was the bushes that made me ask the question.
Narrowing it down a bit, I'll take a shot with Astoria.

Yes. For Father's Day.

What an odd question. I'm pretty sure I've posted here that I live in
Queens. Are you looking for clues in my Flickr pics, or just using
(showing my age) the "phone book"?

I have a funny story about that.
This was the second such clamp that they have given me as a gift. I've
been getting back to more home-handyman work in the past year, after a
health-related hiatus. My liberal use of clamps has become a frequent
humor motif in our household. I think it was this job...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/gdguarino/6236279670/lightbox/
... (putting the end panel on a pantry cabinet with construction
adhesive) that gave them the idea for the Father's Day Clamp. And yes,
the number of clamps was probably overkill, but it entertained my family
and made the seam nice and tight in the front. :)
Anyway, they happened to go to HD on the way back from my daughter's
dress rehearsal for a dance recital. The dance school makes quite an
elaborate production of the show, which extends to the costumes, hair
and makeup. When they asked a salesperson for "the largest clamp in the
store" my daughter was still in her full regalia : a glossy multi-hued
costume, hair piled high and garish makeup intended to be seen in the
dark at a great distance.
She still reminds me of the heroism she displayed while picking out the
gift.

I'll have to think about that. Not even other places with attached or
semi-attached houses?

Nope. The Astoria I know (which is to say, not that much of it) doesn't
seem to have too many houses with driveways in front. Denser than my
neck of the woods too. (hint)

Sorry...I was using somebody else's computer for my last response.
Just to get my response under the right name, I'll say it again.
"neck of the woods"...hmmm...Forest Hills...or Great Neck.

Well, I'll pry no further.
Anyway, the next time you have a chance, stop by the Lemon Ice King of
Corona and have one for me. God, how I miss that crazy corner!
