New Cabinet saw

Hello all,
SWMBO has given me the go ahead to buy my long dreamt for cabinet saw.
My choices lie in a Jet, De;ta Unisaw with either 50" Biesmeyer, or
Unifence, or the new X-5 Unisaw with either fence. Which one and WHY
would any of you choose, given the freedom to purchase any of these.

I'm a cabinet saw newbie! My choice, after a lot of looking, was the unisaw with
the 50" Biesmeyer. So far I'm really happy!

It's not on your list, but the Powermatic 66 is my top choice. Its
triunion is beefy. My second choice is General 350. I like the
Biesmeyer fence.

Ditto -

Unisaw with a Unifence.

I like the ability to pull the Unifence back and use it and it's gauge to
accurately and safely crosscut.

You won't go wrong with either but that was my preference.

Have fun shopping!

IMHO and since you have some experience with this, go look at them and touch
them for your self. You cannot go wrong with any of them.
Personally I chose the Jet over the Unisaws when I was able to compare the 2
side by side.

I own a 40 year old PM 66 with the original fence and I'm not the least bit
motivated to upgrade any part of my saw, especially the fence, heck it will
probably out live me anyway. Speaks well for Powermatic.

Just to say that I probably wouldn't buy new unless I was running a
professional, high production oriented shop.

Unisaw with Unifence. What I researched and bought the first time.
Like the Unifence and the ability to take it off quickly and use it as
a straight edge. Like the Unisaw 3 belt drive, parts availlability and
the fact that everything is compared to the Unisaw. Jet probably makes
as good a saw.

10 to 12 years ago I compared the Unisaw and Jet sitting side be side
and the Jet won... (money was not a factor) it just "looked better"...
Hell of a reason to buy but int he 10-12 years I've have owned it I have
had absolutely zero problems

However... Either is a damn good saw....

Now I ordered the Jet with a Biesmeyer 50" fence (at that time Delta did
not own Biesmeyer..and you could order the fence of your choice)...
ANYWAY I had prior experience with using the Bies and Honestly I think
it is a GREAT FENCE...I like rock solid...and this thing is rock solid...

So I vote (50" Biesmeyer) and whatever saw the coin flip results in...

Personally, I chose the Delta over the Jet and Powermatic when I was
able to compare the 3 side by side. :)
