I tend to agree with you but it's like I have been telling my teenage
son, God blessed us men with two heads. The problem is that blood
only flows to one at a time and it is up to you to determine which one
gets the blood.

Actually, money, power, , drugs/alcohol, and sex is the downfall of a
lot of people. I don't think any political party nor race nor social
class is more or less prone to these vices--they are all equal
opportunity destroyers.

Whenever somebody paints an entire group of people based upon the
action of one individual, it tends to color the painter, too.

You just keep on hiding under that illusion. Somebody calling you an
asshole by using that word does not make it untrue because that word
was used.
When I have a valid counterpoint, I will express any it fucking way I
want. If you want to plug your ears and cover your eyes in a "you

disqualify the truth therein. You are an asshole, Tim.

Wow. Seriously: this is getting out of hand. Insults are flying
around this group from both sides and it makes everybody seem like
they are in the third grade. Somebody else asked the question: What
in the hell are we coming to? I know it was on a somewhat different
topic but the rhetoric is such that nobody is permitted to have a
different point of view. And it seems like neither side has the
decency to just stop the pot shots.

Who the hell cares if we all agree? Do we have to all agree? Isn't
it *stupid* to think that everybody will always agree? What a boring
life it would be to be! Sort of like people fighting about using
corded tools vs. only hand tools vs. something in-between.

Opinions are like noses: everybody has a different one.

This used to be an incredibly congenial group and now people are at
each other's throats over political idealogy. Can we just get back to
what this group is intended for? I know I contribute much more to
these OT things but thta is because I am still really wet behind the
ears as far as woodworking goes. I would like to read things here
that I can put to practical use whenver I try to hack some wood.

And I don't care if the suggesitons come from the right or the left or
the top or the bottom or out of nowhere.

I'm deeply hurt by your assessment. As you know, the opinion of
folks like you is fundamentally important to my sense of self.

BTW, I'm not particularly offended by your use of profanity, it's just
that it's based on a three word vocabulary and is utterly
unimaginative. I've heard school children with a greater breadth of
expression. It mostly just amuses me that you have so little of
consequence to say that you're left with nothing but your three words.
Well that, and blaming "those bankers" ... and we know who THEY are,

Hey Lew -

Larry Craig, etc..., etc...., ad nauseum.

All smoke the bone (or other anonymous same-sex coupling) in private
and publicly decry their own 'perversion.'

These are all people, with people's failings. However, Republicans
seem much more likely to turn theirs into platform planks.

Holy comoly. All of this is insane. If we have gotten to the point
that we cannot disagree with something then what the heck good is
life? Is everybody an "a**hole" because they do not believe in one
entitlement program after another? Is another person an "a**hole"
because they believe the Iraq war may have been avoided? Come on.

I think this health care bill that was "passed" was the wrong thing at
the wrong time. We are so deep in debt that there is no way we can
afford the entitlement programs that are already in place. It came
out today that only 47% of the people in the US pay federal income
tax. Yes, I agree that there are a number of "rich" people who don't
pay but, in sheer numbers, there are more "poor" people who do not
pay. And who defines "rich" and "poor" anyways? There is no magic
number for either, no matter what anybody on either side says.

The health care "bill" will mark the end of the middle class
eventually. My question is, what are the tax recipients doing to
thank or pay back the tax payers?? Whenever a person goes into a
store, they exchange money for *something* be it a product or a
service. What do the tax payers get from the tax recipients? Oh,
sorry, "healthier" people taking their money.

Seriously. I wanted to punch Bush whenever he said the illegal
immigrants were doing jobs that American citizens didn't want to do.
I didn't (and don't) want to believe him. It pisses me off that
people could think that way but, the more I see, I have to say there
is some truth to what he said--and it still ticks me off.

Now, this is not about the health care bill but there are a *LOT* of
people who are on welfare who just sit on there duffs. Why not make
them do many of these jobs in exchange for their entitlement? Oh,
sorry, it is probably extremely offensive to some people because it
will be likened to slavery but isn't it "reverse slavery" to force
others to work to make money and be productive only to give "a fair
share" to others who choose not to do such?

Why is it called stealing whenever a private citizen takes money off
another private citizen but it is called "progress" whenever the
government does it???

Hypocrisy occurs when people suffer from 'holier-than-thou' syndrome.

When the local priest was caught coming out of a whorehouse he was
confronted by a member of his parish: "FATHER!! What are YOU doing
here, on a Friday no less?" His answer? "Well, I didn't eat any meat!"

Nope ... again you seem lost in a maze of what should be very simple

*I* won't be calling busbus anything as there are several components
missing in his post: He's not sanctimonious, condescending nor is he
trying to baffle anybody with big words. Busbus states his position on
its merits and not by torching and belittling opposite views. IOW, he
has class.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The big difference between the R
and D politicians is that the Rs end up looking like hypocrites
because they lecture everyone on topics of moral rectitude while doing
the very same things themselves. The D politicians don't have that
problem since, as a group, they have no concept of morality, right-,
wrong, or appropriate behavior. When they behave like pigs, they're
merely being consistent with their worldview.

I don't know what group YOU'VE been following, but... "incredibly congenial"? Hell, in the

Well, since you've shown yourself to be homophobic and a sexist, it
shouldn't surprise many that you are also an Anti-Banker, wink, wink!

It was the socialist government of Germany under Hitler that was pissed
off at the bankers. I'm more pissed off at the socialist government...

No, but when you said something I said sounded "gay" I'm pretty certain
you were not using the term "gay" in a complimentary fashion.

And most would consider calling a woman a "coont" a sexist thing to do.
Calling someone a Douche-nozzle is pretty much just worthless
vitriol, but whether it's homophobic, sexist or not would probably depend on
the source.

Your track record is not so good.

No, the force of government with the threat of jail makes me
do it. The Debbil just convinces people that such systems
based on force are OK...

You're about as big a hypocrite as they come. All your criticisms and
comments about people on universal healthcare stealing from the system
and yet you've stated outright that when the opportunity presents
itself, you'll take support from that very same system.

You're not even man enough to back up to your own words. That makes
you a whining mouthpiece and nothing else. Fundamentally, you're a
thief like everybody else you criticize.

And considering that hypocrisy laden Timbo did not support either

he specifically excludes himself from any of those failings or world
views.

If you benefit from it, then you're evil and a thief ~ You're original
words to me. And, if the time comes that you take more out of it than
you've put into it? Will you continue stealing?

The truth is and always has been that you're a whiner with nothing
else in your life to contribute. Certainly not woodworking. Whining is
all you know how to do and you can't even do it ethically. Guess
assholes like you are doomed to your self torment.

Get used to it. That's the way liberals express themselves.

It's not that they can't use civil discourse, it's that when they do what
they say sounds like a rational argument that can quickly be dismantled.
When they curse, hit people, throw eggs, or shout down those with whom they
disagree, they are obviously acting from emotion.

A "feeling" is always genuine and cannot be gainsaid. If you dispute their
utterance, you are obviously insane because their feelings are true and
unassailable.
