The removal advice below may be incorrect. Many Milwaukee drills use taper
mounted chucks. Read the specs that are stamped on the chuck. A threaded
mount will be marked: THD 1/2-20, or 1/2-20 (or something similar). If you
have a threaded mount, use the removal method that Leon posted. A Jacobs
taper mount will be marked: 2 Taper, or 2JT (or something similar). If you
have a Jacobs taper mount, the chuck will have to be removed with a special
tool. Jacobs sells Drill Chuck Removal Wedges. These wedges are
inexpensive (5 or 10 dollars), but may be hard to get locally. They can be
purchased from MSC www.mscdirect.com or possibly Enco www.use-enco.com .
Don't cheat; use the proper tool. Other methods of removal are likely to
damage the chuck or the shaft. Another option for removal is to visit your
local tool repair shop. They should have the correct tool and can easily
remove the chuck for you.

With out a screw of some type in the bottom of the chuck indicates a single
direction drill. Spin the chuck in the direction that the drill turns. If
this is a key type chuck, insert the key in one of the holes and smack the
key with a mallet, again in the same direction that the chuck turns when the
drill is on.
