Most battery supply companies and local stores like Radio Shack carry C and
sub-C Ni-Cds.

www.batteryspace.com Be aware that they are likely SUB-c not c cells. And
if you want fast charge, they can be pricey. As an experiment, I'm using
cells cannibalized from the harbor freight 12 volt drill packs- when they
are on sale, they are 6 bucks for 10 cells (12 volt pack) , BUT they don't
like fast charging- it'll kill em. Have charged using a maha charger that
tops em in about 1 1/2 hrs and allows them to stay cool in the charge
process. Dunno bout the longevity of the cheap chinese cells.
