That's easy: Plywood is dimensionally stable. While you may think that
means it doesn't change much as the environment changes, it really means
it doesn't change much as the dimension you're in changes. Therefore,
since floors usually consist of some plywood sub base (for its
dimensional stability) you don't fall through the floor when you can pass
through walls. ;-)

Old computers are getting to be a lost art. Here at Uncreative Labs, we

Not necessarily. "could" implies it is possible but not obligatory. So,
one could presumably chose not to fall throught the floor.
But, an invisible person would have to be blind.
