Chuck Noll, the guy who built the Pittsburgh Steelers into an NFL
powerhouse, is gone at 82, of apparent natural causes.
A Cleveland native, he played for the Cleveland Browns as one of
Paul Brown's "Messenger" guards during the 1950's, when the
Browns were still winning championships.
After retirement as a player, he would have several assistant coaching
positions before accepting the job of head coach of the Steelers.
The rest is history.
