Agent does display binaries

I was mistaken recently when posting about not seeing binaries using
Agent. Tech support straightened me out.

Agent version 2 is now available and $15 to upgrade. Version 2 Agent
seem to be faster. Wish it could support multiple servers.

If you are using Agent, it's worth upgrading to Agent version 2.

My fifteen bucks will cover that upgrade. Anyway, my original $29
investment had give me about nine years of pleasure in the newsgroups.

I use Photoshop and Corel Photo Paint for editing But for plain old
viewing, the viewer that comes with Win 2000 and XP works fine.

I've been using www.delorie.com/wood to view binaries and commented
here about what I thought was an Agent deficiency. Deficiency was me
and I wanted to rectify MY misunderstanding. Agent newsreader is
several steps up from AOL that I was strapped with for too many years.
My frustration of reading the text posts to the binary groups then
logging off and "FIND"ing the pictures got to me. For Agent users
click on MESSAGE and select SHOW RAW MESSAGE and toggle it to enable
seeing the JPG file. Sorry to waste bandwaidth for this but wanted to
clear up MY misunderstanding/frustration.

correct.

Agent has an internal viewer for text only. all other file types must
be handled by other applications, and Agent has good tools to assign
what gets sent where.

I use acdsee too. great little app...

Agent doesn't show pics/binaries but can show the raw
data. Use a viewer (I use ACDSee) for pics on groups
like alt.binaries.pictures.woodworking /a.b.p.furniture.
It also uses other externals programs for viewing, such
as Acrobat (for .pdf files) and browsers (for websites)
via your Windows (primarily) registration.
