Firewood Ideas

For those that need firestarters... Here are some tips.... Pine Cones.
These are great fire starters. For the ones that are opened with
spaces between the pricklies...
Twist up paper and stick it in between and light.. The pinecone will
last long enough for you to add on small sticks
then light logs and so on.
Pizza boxes, soda can boxes, beer cases, junk mail, flyers, etc.
Use pine cones covered with wax.**
Pack charcoal in paper egg cartons and tie shut. When ready to use,
just
light the carton.
Put a piece of charcoal in each section of a paper egg carton. Cover
with
melted wax.** Tear apart and use as needed. You can also use sawdust,
dryer
lint or Pistachio shells instead of the charcoal.
Take 100% cotton balls and thoroughly rub Vaseline into them. Keep in
a
ziplock bag.

Good lord, that's a lot of work. I just crumple up some newspaper, light it
and throw some 1" branch wood on it, or some cut offs from the wood shop.
Big wood goes on that and pretty soon it's toasty.

Running that in Park Service diesel vehicles now. You can tell whether the
oil was from the donut shop or the fish place, too.
