PNW domestic equal of cocobolo?

What would be the closest Pacific Nortwest equivelant of cocobolo with
regards to working characteristics. A turner friend that lived originally in
Socal where cocobolo was readily available was looking for a domestic
hardwood that might be available in the Bend, Oregon area. Thanks in advance
Pat

desert ironwood is native to north america, though it's range doesn't
go that far north. persimmon isn't native here (I think) but is
available in limited quantities here.

There isn't one. Cocobolo is a Dalbergia (rosewood), extremely dense, dark
reddish with black and yellow streaks. There's nothing whatsoever in the
Pacific NW that comes close, unless it's imported.
