CAD Management Tips

If you use CAD to prepare your drawings you may find these tips
helpful:

-Establish a Detail library.
This is basically a collection of standard drawing files from which
you make other drawings saving time and money. You won't be able to
use it in all drawings but it should save you time on standard
casework.

-Establish Graphic standards
Make a CAD Manual where you specify your layers, dimension styles,
text and borders to give all your drawings a professional look of
consistency even though they were drawn by a team.

-Make empty page layouts
It saves time in the end to plan how the pages will be ordered, the
scale of the details and how they will reference to other drawings.

-Use online contract CAD staffing
You can catch up with your drafting load by using CAD professionals
on the web. You will probably get one right away. Quite often they are
quicker with standard and modified casework because they invest in
software tools to get the job done faster.
