(Lucas=A0J.=A0Riesau) doth burble:
I want to fool those "they are here"-idiots with a wooden UFO - to make
fun of them.
How can I craft a wooden UFO???
It should look like a flying saucer...
If you'd asked for a plate, yes, I could have helped you out. But a
saucer, no.

I like it! Then you could be the hero who takes down UFOs with your
12ga.
"No, honey, I'm not wasting time shooting skeet, I'm saving the world
from alien invaders!"

Crafting the wooden UFO won't be too difficult. If small, you might try
a lathe. For larger ones, you might want to look into bent lamination.
The real challenge is going to be building a matter-antimatter
propulsion unit out of wood. Antimatter wood is a bit difficult to find
on this planet, but you might consider piney-wood. Some folks on here
consider it the anti-wood when it comes to furniture projects.

You need to be even more pathetic than the "they are here" idiots?

Get a lathe. Find a nice small plate, copy. When done, throw. There
you have it, a flying saucer made of wood. If you throw it hard enough
or sneakily enough, you'll have a wooden UFO.

Couldn't you just use a skeet shooter? Good distance, proper ufo type
trajectory. For that matter, actually use skeet, paint some lights on it
with flourescent paint etc etc etc......
Better yet, mount a few blinking battery operated LEDs on it......

Friend of mine once played a prank on his uncle, an avid skeet shooter. Turned
a few pieces of maple to the same size as a clay pigeon, then spray-painted
them the same color, too, and slipped them in with the clays. Uncle got kinda
frustrated when several failed to shatter, and had a pretty spectacular flow
of colorful language.
