Hi, folks -
Anyone here have a Woodpecker PRL-V2 420 or 350 with a Porter-Cable 690
router motor in it?
The descriptions say that above-the-table bit changes for the 690 require
offset wrenches. I'm trying to determine if bit changes can be done with
just one offset wrench for the lower nut, and a straight wrench for the
collet nut itself.
Reason I'm asking is that I'm contemplating using a PreciseBits precision
collet on the router, and the spanner wrench they supply is a straight
wrench.
I emailed Woodpecker with this question and the response I got back from
them was quite vague, so I'd rather find someone who can tell me from real
experience what the deal is.
The reason I want to use the 690 instead of moving up to the 3HP 7518, which
doesn't have the bit-change problem, is (1) cost: I already have the 690,
and (2) power consumption.
Thanks,
Tom Dacon
