delta x5 program

Does anybody know what is included with Delta's x5 promo package?
Their web site says rebates on PC and Delta tools but does not say how much
of a rebate or what tools are qualified for the rebate.
Discounts and rebates on glues, adhesives, clamps, finishes and more. OK how
much of a rebate and how much of a discount and what is included with
"more""
Free woodworking magazines and woodworking book/video offers. OK which
magazines, how many issues and what
is the offer on the book/video?

What I have been able to decipher is that the X5 promo is coupon based. The
coupons arrive inside the tool's box.
What I suspect is the coupons have an expiration date.

The reason I ask I am in the mist of a debate with myself on a new TS, Jet,
Delta or maybe Powermatic.
So far Jet is ahead but if the X5 promo package is any good then its back to
coin tossing to decide.

The Delta X5 program should be promoted thru your Delta distributor
with a sample coupon binder that includes over 50 pages of coupons.
These coupons are good until July 30, 2005.

The coupons are for rebates on as many as 16 of Delta tools and
accessories.
Included in the booklet is coupons for the following...Porter-Cable,
Biesemeyer, Watco, Fine woodworking magazine, Taunton Press, System
Three resins, American Sycamore Woodworkers' Retreat, Bahco, Oldham,
DMT, Bessey, Titebond, Wood magazine, Woodsmith, Woodworker's Journal
magazine and American Woodworkers magazine. I think I have recalled
most of the participants who are included in the program. Included in
this program is an American Sycamore coupon that can save you $100.00
off any week long class and $25.00 off any weekend workshop. As I
wrote before your Delta dealer will have a sample booklet for your
viewing. If you have additional questions you may call 901-346-9941

Dear Jerry:
I live out in the sticks of Indiana.
I was a Delta dealer for years and I was always able to be competive
with the internet pricing and the big discounters. I gave the best
customer service and kept my customers informed and educated. So if
your internet supplier can not do the job for you, go see your local
dealer. It is fun and exciting to visit the stores and see the tools
up front and personal. As far as state taxes, my out of state
competitors always had a 5% advantage over me. Many states that are in
financial problems are trying very hard to close that loop hole and we
will most likly see that done.
I had to prove to my customer that I was well worth the 5%
difference. I did not get to keep that 5% and also had to do the
states paper work. Buying from your local dealer is well worth the 5%
or what ever your state's % is. There are hundreds of dealers out
there that will earn your trust and do provide outstanding service. I
have many friends from through out the years of my selling equipment.
Perhaps, each time I might have not had the lower price, but I had the
best price and service. I dealt with customers that cared only about
the price and I really felt sorry for them. They missed the
relationships and the friendships one builds through out the years of
buying from someone you can trust.

as far as what the coupoun offers is:Go see your local dealer! They
are educated about such things..

good luck,

Mike from American Sycamore

Well Mike, I live out in the sticks of Tenneessee sooooo my delta dealer is
a many hour drive AND state taxes and
more than likely no discounts to come close to internet pricing. I am not
going to go to a store, check out the package
and tool then turn around and buy it over the net. Just doesn't seem right
to me. (Jerry steps down from soap box)

All I want is Delta to itemize exactly what is included in the promo pak and
the restrictions for each item. Guess I'll
take this up with Delta and see if I get anywhere with them.

Thanks for the responses.
