My friend made this trestle table from plans contained in Fine
Woodworking Magazine. He thinks he loaned the issue and it was never
returned. I have 173 of the 181 issues and I have searched the on-line
index and can not find it.
Here is a photo of the table (nice work eh?)
http://weretexas.com/Gene/genestable.JPG
Can anyone help? He thinks it was from an issue from the last 3-5 years.
Thanks,
Mark in Austin

I can view the pictured table (first link) and figure out how to build
it or improvise in order to build it. Mark, maybe your friend used the
simple plans (Roy's link) and improvised or improved on the original
plan when making his table. He obviously knows woodworking, considering
his results, well enough to have done so. I'm sure you can do the same.

I can view the pic (first link) and build that table, maybe even with
having to improvise some. Mark, maybe your friend used the original
plan, Roy's link, and improvised or modified the plans when making his
table. Considering his results, he is a good enough woodworker to have
done so. I am sure you can do the same.
Mark, as good a job as your friend did on his table (first link), I
highly suspect there may be a good possibility he may have improvised
or improved upon the original plan (link two). It is not uncommon to
find defects, poor design, poor esthetics or other misnomers in some
plans, which can easily be modified or improved upon by a good
woodworker.

There is a close match to this table in the book "Shaker Style Wood
Projects" by Robert Sonday (Pub: Sterling) ISBN 0-8069-1386-X (paper) or
0-8069-1381-9 (hardback).
If you can't locate a copy, e-mail me.

I used Roy's link and got:
Trestle Table - Fine Woodworking - Issue 4/00 Page:74
Since I can't see the actual article I can't tell if it's the same table.

Mark I have taken FWW since it's inception and never recall seeing this
table . perhaps it was featured in another publication...
Thanks Sonny,
You might be right. Actually it is my friend who wants to make another
table. (He gave the one in the link to his daughter.) He loaned the
magazine to a friend who wanted to make one himself and it was lost.
It either that or since none of the FWW magazine readed recognize it, I
assume he got it in another magazine.
Thanks everyone for your help...
