If you are having trouble matching the grain on an old piece where only part of
a
surface is being replaced, or want to match a whole surface, furniture res-
toration shops usually have a box fulll of scraps in the back room that came
off furniture they have repaired over the years and you have a pretty good
chance of finding a close match.
