Eugene, Oregon area wood attractions

Greetings. I will be in Eugene Oregon later this month. Mainly to
work on my daughters recently purchased home. While there, it would be
nice to visit any interesting woodworking establishments, artesian
woodworking exhibits, or local hardwood saw mills that sell to
hobbyists. Anyone in the Eugene area have any suggestions? Will have
transportation so driving a bit wouldn't be a problem. Thanks, Mike

Also, there is Shorty Campbel in Mapleton (30 miles west), Curley
Burley in Cottage Grove, Goby Walnut in Albany(about 40 miles north)
and a few others, it depends on what you want, and of course, how much
you want to spend. You can call me, or e-mail me also.

Tree Products over on Irving sells hardwood, and Crosscut Hardwoods recently
(well, within the last ten years anyway) opened up a store here. The Eugene
Planing Mill shut down a while back, with REI and a few other specialty
stores filling up the empty spaces, but the cylone is still there. There's
a place called, "Woodcraft" that sells high-end fancy-schmancy tools and
whatnot if that's your sort of thing. There's a guy out Hwy 58 near
Pleasant Hill that does wood carvings (bears and whatnot) with softwoods;
you can't miss it as you drive by, and if you want to get out of town,
Cottage Grove has some old logging equipment in their museum. I hear there
are conifer forests around this area as well. ;)

Hi Mike, Ditto to what has been said so far. Kennedy Woods has moved to
the Eugene area. I know of a one cutter that has a good section of
different woods. Oct 22 & 23 the carving club is having a show here in
Eugene. Give me email back and I will give you a ph # the get in touch
with me when you are here and I can direct you around.

There used to be a place west of town that sold Myrtle, they sold both
wood and products. But that as ~17 years ago
