Yeah, why else would they flip up besides to throw darts at them? I
was thinking the same thing. I wonder what kind of finish is
self-healing for use on a dart board.

Yeah! I know the feeling sometimes when I screw up and see that kind of
craftsmanship and look at Planman's work I feel like I'm wastsing my
time and money. But each time I purchase some sort of wood product or
furniture and look at the poor craftsamnship and quality of the product
I feel better and gett the confidence that I can make it better.
Beside's there is no way of knowing if he used a cad system and cnc
machine and how many times and wood wasted to get it right. I would
like to achieve skills on their level but then I bring myself to
reality that I'm just learning and learners make mistakes.

If he sells one set every two years that is $60,000 a year. In my book
that is a *very* good living - and for doing something he loves. The
material cost on the two tables probably isn't more than a couple of
thousand, all the cost is in the labor. If I thought I could gross
$60K annually doing woodworking I'd be all over it.

But once everybody sees those pictures, there will be a glut on the used
tool market and there won't be any woodworkers left to buy them.

Yabbut.... at those prices, you don't need to sell more than a handful of
pieces a year to make a pretty decent living...

The furniture is not exactly to my taste either but you've got to respect
the craftmanship. If you can build that, there's not much you can't build.

Why? Because you can't make a tacky looking tilt-top table??

Just send your tools to me. I will cover the shipping costs.

You're a piker. Did one with my scout pocket knife and glued it up with

Hold it all together with a roofing nailer till the JB Weld dries, right?

This guy caters to the carriage trade. Personally, I don't like all
that marquetry. Less is more - do something for an accent, not a
splashy display like these. They remind me a lot of medieval french

And if I may judge from the sticker prices on his site, not to very
many other people's taste either.
