piano hinge

aka continuous hinge

looking at some designs online and all seem to use piano hinges

for cabinets where the doors do double duty for storage they all use
piano hinges

is it just more strength because it seems to me that three hinges
should be plenty for a 3 foot long door

maybe there are other benefits to a piano hinge that i am missing

easier to install was one thing i considered but not sure if that
is so important

ok you are saying that ease of install and better load capacity are
the advantages

but if the stock is thick enough regular hinges will be fine

hmmm since i have plenty of regular hinges and no piano hinges

invisibility might be better called mostly concealed when closed but
visible when open
