I was going to buy a FastTrack bandsaw fence, so I called up the local
WoodCraft store.
I was told they don't have it in stock, and FastTrack was bought by
another company, and they don't plan to restock it.
They said they plan to get something similar. They mentioned
Craig/Kreig (sp?). Said the model was KMS-7200 and the price was about
$99.
Anyone know more about this? Will it no longer be possible to get
FastTrack fences?
Should I try to get a FastTrack from another store?
Should I wait for the new model?
I can't find any web page describing the new product.
Anyone familair with this Craig/Kreig?
I was just thinking it would be a good idea to start investing in
compatible fences for the bandsaw/table saw/router table/etc. Dang.

I had a similar difficulty finding this fence last month. Iturra's
said they were sold out and recommended a few other stores that were
also recently sold out. Ended up finding my way to McFeelys online
store where they still had the Fasttrak (pre-Kreg?) model for $79.95.
You may want to check with them.

I found the discontinued fastrak fence at McFeelys.com. You may want
to try them.
Personally, I'm not that excited about the fence now having tried it
for a while. It is not clearly better than the Delta rip fence (each
has its own advantages) and I have a 16" table so it seems a bit small
to me. That said, I think the McFeely's price is excellent at $79.95
and it includes the resaw fence. (At least that was the price about 6
weeks ago.) BTW, their add is for the Kreg, but the fence that I
received looked like the FastTrak (it wasn't blue and it matched the
picture in Iturra's catalog).

Also, check out the original Fastrak website, they were closing out a
bunch of the FastTrak labeled items last I looked (back in the late
Fall)
www.prairieriverwoodworking.com
They DO still list the bandsaw fence
I've ordered from them in the recent (late fall) past and have NO
complaints about the products or the service

Its funny. I have been looking a miter gauge from Kreg, and thought the
fence looked exactly like the FastTrak fence. I thought how on Earth can
these guys so blatanly copy FastTrak without getting sued?? Duh! I have
a brochure from Kreg, and yes, they apparently have bought the FastTrak
companies as the attachments are identical. Yes, they do sell the
bandsaw fence (and a killer miter gauge as well).
Go to http://www.kregtool.com and go to the online catalog link on the
left. From there you can find the bandsaw fence link. Same fence, only
in annodized blue now.

Ah. Gotcha. Thanks, UA.
I found the pics on woodcraft's site.

Yup. The woodcraft page has pictures. It looks like the new blue
color costs $20-$30 more. I don't see any other difference.

Yup. I don't have any of these T-Tracks/FastTracks. I need to re-built
the crosscut sled for my table saw, and add a new fence to the router
table. So I was interested in investing in these new-fangled fences.
If, for instance, I could move the flip-stop from my table saw to my
router table, that might be useful. Or I can make my own stops....
Okay - FastTrack will be around for a while... Just a new color.
That's something I was worrying about...
Thanks....

Nope. Each one is unique, unmunged, valid, and tagged with the current
date and time.

I run my own mail server in my house, and have several ways to reduce
the incoming spam. This is one of the techniques I use.

Let me follow up on my bandsaw query.
I went to the Woodcraft store, and looked at both the old FastTrak
bandsaw fence and new Kreg fence, side by side. You can buy the old
bandsaw fence from http://www.prairieriverwoodworking.com for
$59.99. I think they may even have seconds for $49.99. The Kreg fence
is $109.99. Here are the differences, as far as I can tell:
1) The Kreg is Blue.
Wait. There's more!
2) The Kreg has a 26" track. So this is like the large
FastTrak fence (List $99, on sale at Prairie for $79.99.
If you compare it to this fence, the Kreg is much better
for $10 more. But it's overkill for a 14" saw table.
3) The Kreg fence comes with a rule, and magnifier w/hairline
to read it.
4) The Kreg clamp is much heavier, and more stable. MORE MEAT!
5) You can adjust the Kreg fence for blade drift. I think you can
do this with the FastTrak by filing the holes oblong.
6) You can adjust the Kreg Fence to be parallel to the blade.
There are 4 nylon set screws to do this.
7) You can set the fence to a low-profile position, in cause
the fence interferes with the cool blocks.
I stared at the two fences long and hard, and bought the Kreg fence.
I know I could have saved $$ by getting the $59 version, but I didn't
want to have to fuss with it, and hate regretting a purchase. (Plus I
had a gift certificate for Woodcraft, and I wanted to use it this
weekend.)
Here's a quick review.
There are three sets of holes pre-drilled for (1) Jet/Rigid (2) Delta
and (3) Craftsman. You can drill new holes. I set the fence up, and
tested some thin 8" wide "veneers". Not bad for a beginner.I need to
practice some more.
The directions were a little confusing about adjusting the fence. I
think they got "front" and "back" reversed regarding the set screws.
I wish they included an allen wrench for the nylon set screws. I have
sets of Metric and English allen wrenches, but this one is an odd
size. So adjusting the fence to be parallel was tricky.
The fence is wider that I need for my 14" Jet.
I got the 7" resaw fence. It comes with 5 nylon plugs, with no
directions for their use. I figured they were placed on the bottom of
the guide, to make it slide easier. Thet fit, once I bashed them
enough with a hammer.

It's Kreg.
Kreg bought FastTrack from Duginske.
It was in all the papers.
Probably the KMS-7200 will be almost what you were expecting
from the FastTrack though the color (colour David) will be
blue (bleu David).

Technically yes this will be true.

I won't decide for you.

Try Kreg.
