pissed at HD

tonight I went to HD to pick up that Ridgid 6" ROS that's been getting good
reviews. Because they just remodeled the store, everything was 10% off.
Anyway, they had like 7-8 customers in line- most with carts loaded with
lumber- with half as many employees doing this and that within eye shot,
but with only one clerk doing check-out. People ahead of me were grumbling
because of the wait, and in situations like this I tend to have a short
fuse. when it was my turn, I had the poor girl page the manager and angrily
let him know that I considered the situation to be his fault, and it'll be a
long while before I'll set foot back in the store- blah blah blah. I'm
still steamed and feel like returning this sander even before opening the
box. My question is: Is this sander good enough that I should keep it and
forget about this one more nail in the coffin, or teach em' a lesson in my
own small way and return it?

Indeed, I guess this has happened to businesses. Reminds of the time at
Costco where the membership checker lady refused to allow me to go the food
kiosk for a cup of coffee. It was 10:30, and my membership doesn't allow me
in until 11:00am. Well, I walked right past the stunned woman while she was
still talking and proceeded to walk up and order my hot mocha. A scene
ensued, and a different employee ran up yelling at the food person, "don't
serve this man coffee!", and told me he was going to escort out of the
store. I held my tongue as I walked out to my truck, finally defeated-
without my coffee, when the manager comes up to me as I was opening the door
to explain the store policies, and said just this once I'll be allowed to
enter the store early to get a coffee- I think that he thought I was going
to get a firearm or something and go on a rampage. Sheesh- all because I
wanted a coffee.

While the enforcement of this policy sounds over the top, it strikes
me that there seems to be a group of people with the attitude, "the
rules don't apply to me"

I refuse to use them so far. Note: I said "so far" because I don't know
that will happen in the future. I despise having to check myself out. Our
local K Mart just took them out, but the Wal Mart put them in.

Not enough good help available, especially at low wages. People with high
skills and talent are working in medical offices at 50% more in wages.

Well, yea you can, since it's a real store. Fairytale Land is
where....nevermind. It's the store on Preston Highway, South East
Louisville. The hours are from 7 A.M. till 10 P.M. Monday through Saturday,
8 A.M. till 6 P.M. on Sunday. Just don't park in the third space from the
west end in the fifth row, that's reserved for the customer of the month, 19
months running!!!!! Namely me!!! hahahaha. BTW, dude is a want to be cowboy.
A cowboy I ain't!!

Sounds to me like you may just be a self centered ass.

If you're not happy waiting in the line to buy something at HD,
put it down and leave.
I don't know a thing about Costco, but either buy the membership
that lets you in earlier or shop there when they are open to your
business. Just play & pay by the rules or stay out, why the heck
should you warrant an exception?

Both Costco and Sam's Club have special hours for business members only
from like 7:00 am to 10:00 am or 11:00 am.

At Sam's Club, they don't open the regular IN doors and have business
members come in a different entrance.

They supposedly do this so business members can get in and out quickly
without waiting behind mom buying groceries for a month or whatever.

Have you thought about perhaps Home Depot isn't raising prices as fast
because of self checkout? How much money does a cashier really cost
anyhow? I'm guessing the cost of labor is 15 to 30 cents per customer.
A self checkout I would guess at a cost of 7 to 15 cents per customer.

Do you think Home Depot is suddenly going to be lower all the prices by
much because they are spending 15 cents less per customer who uses self
checkout?

I've gone out of my way to shop at stores with self checkout because I
generally have to stand in line for much less time. I really wish Target
would get self checkouts. I don't the level of people who work as
chasiers are really hurting for a job.

I'm in Jeffersonville. I know about, and am occasionally in, the stores
in Clarksville, New Albany and on Hurstborn. Those the three or are
there others in Louisville I've missed.
Hmm, seems I have passed one on Dixie Highway between here and
Knox.

Well, I have been run out of an isle in Clarksville so they could use
the lift but they did offer help before hand and I'ld told them I was
just killing time.

I've never had a cashier in ANY store shut down a lane I already in.
Swap out cashiers a few times, but never shut it down.

Maybe they just recognize you, RemodGuy, and are running for cover?

I have been lurking here for some weeks but this thread has my
interest.
I am an old codger in Ottawa, Ont. spent years in retail serving (yes,
serving) the public, and I see too many of the younger people
accepting poor service without a whimper. Well, I ask for management
when I receive poor service out of the ordinary, BUT I also go
out-of-my-way to praise good service when it is received. On the other
hand I try and keep it all in perspective.

Here in Ottawa, the worst service is at our Canadian Tire Stores, sort
a hardware style WalMarts. And WalMart are little better. Their
"associates" ignore customers unless they trip over them and I am
convinced that I have becomen invisible.

AS for HD they seem a cut above what you have down south. We have at
least 3 within 20 minutes. I am always agreeably surprised at their
staff. They are knowledgeable and universally helpful. If they can't
answer a question, they will go and find someone who can. Returns are
never a problem and there are always adequate cashs open, perhaps 2-3
patrons ahead.

Now the negatives re: HD. They have driven most of the competition
out-of-business (e.g. the Beaver lumber store, many hardware stores.)
I have a firefighter son who is into renovations and he is always
pissed at HD because he does not get the "service" he receives at an
independent lumber/hardware dealer. Of course, as long as his client
pays the shot, price does not mean much.

As for Costco, for the first few years that they came into Canada, I
was negative, having seen the membership concept years ago. But when I
became miffed at the other big grocery chains here, we tried Costco
and use them extensively. We need to wath their prices, not overbuy,
and love their return policy. And their staff is well trained in
customer relations. Probably 65% of our food budget in spent at Costco
and a significant amount of other goods.

So, we like HD and Costco even though we would rather patronize
Canadian companies. As for WalMart, I guess that they have a place.

Sorry for the rant...

Take your buisness elsewhere. They are there because they offer a service,
however valued, at a cost. They will still be there next month/year/decade
because most of us are willing to get the basic supplies at a reasonable
cost, despite the service.

While I agree that you shouldn't let the little things bother you, and
I agree that perhaps the OP gets a bit too upset a little too easily,
I think it would be in the manager's best interest to understand that
employees who are all in the area could put their little projects down
for 2 minutes and open another register or two until the line get
backs down to 1 or 2 people. EVERYONE wins since the customers will
be happy and will come back and spend more money.

I spent *45* minutes in line at a local market on Superbowl Sunday
Morning. It was crazy. Every register was open (I saw 24 of them)
and each one had at least 5 people in line buying a LOT of stuff.

What peeves me are the people who insist that the cashier or bagger
bag their groceries when there obviously aren't enough people around
to keep up. I guess they figure they're above bagging groceries
themselves, even though it would help them and everyone else in the
entire store out.

One of the ways HD gives you a cheap price is by giving you cheap
service.
Would you pay 50-100% more for the same tool at a traditional hardware
store for the better service? I suspect not.

...better advice yet is to choose your battles. I've known too many people
that dropped dead because of getting riled about stupid things that should
not warrant burning a "chit" (rule of thumb is to think that you only get
10/year...if you want to burn them all on Jan 2, then it's your choice but I
tend to save mine and usually they all expire on Dec 31).

If you are in perfect health and that doesn't bother you, you may want to
consider the fact that the 85 people behind you that simply wanted to pay
for a box of nails and get out of there are not at all impressed with
"bravado".

to delay the people in line behind him, while he complained. Should

The lady with two buggies (one for groceries, to pay for with food stamps,
and one full of beer and cigarettes to pay for with cash) in the 20 items
or less lane, who then has $35 worth of coupons to dig out, half of which
are expired, and then cusses the cashier out because of a 50-cent
difference in the price of a package of microwave popcorn.

(I was the cashier. I hope I never, ever have to be a cashier again. I'd
rather smash one of my testicles with a sledge hammer.)

On my clamp claming trip this morning to HD, I got to try out one of the
U-Scan sort-of. A bored cashier came over and did everything but put the
money in it. She was cute and had a odd day glo colored tape measure clipped
on to her jeans and real looking butterfly tatoo in the small of her back.
She caught me checking it out and I told her that I was trying to figure out
what brand her tape measure was. Lame I know but hey. She then turned around
and stuck out her chest and said most guys say that they are trying to read
her name off her apron. If all HD cashier looked like her and were as
helpful. I would go back more often.

The level of courtesy and service seems to vary by location.
Mechanicsburg, PA Home Depot is usually a quite pleasant experience
for me (with the exception of carpet) - realizing they're not a ww'g
store, etc. They've gone out of their way at times to help out.
The HDs around the DC area (MD side) vary by location and the shoddier
parts have shoddier service. None around here though come close to
the courtesy and service I find in PA.

That sucks, but... Maybe try speaking to a cashier and ask if they couldn't
get some other cashiers up to the registers? Some of them might not give a
dang, but some might very well have not thought of it, or hesitated because
they felt they were to busy ringing up customers to stop for 15 seconds to
call the mgr on duty or the "racetrack mgr".

As I was told growing up... It Never Hurts to Ask.

Keep it. Put the last nail in, countersink it, putty over and use your
new sander to finish it off. They'd only take the unopened box, put it
back on the shelf and sell it at full price to the next guy in the door.

I only go to HD for what the other locals don't have in stock- a
specific valve that fits my radiators. Been in there twice in the last
three or four years.

You must be shopping at stores that just opened or you live somewhere other
than the Northeast USA. Service around here is worse than terrible except
for the electrical and plumbing departments where they seem to have some
trade retirees that know what they are doing. Other than that, it is pretty
much a true DIY experience. And I'll "ditto" the comment about getting
closed out for the forklift thing...pretty common here...bad enough to be
blocked access but worse to be in the aisle and have to wait it out.

Home Depot is not going to "learn" anything by you returning the sander. I
see from this and your other post that you seem to have a hard time when you
don't get your way. Maybe you need to take a look at yourself and learn to
take things in stride and keep a sense of proportion. I speak from
experience here, I'm not trying to be a d*ck. So Home Depot cost you a
precious 5 minutes of your life. What would you have spent them doing? I
think of the amount of time I waste doing stupid things and it puts things
like this in perspective for me. Life is much niceer when you don't get mad
over every stupid damn little thing.

20 years or so ago over something silly someone I barely knew poured a 20 oz
soft drink into my gas tank. I sat for a couple of weeks thinking up a way
to get even with him, but before I could act he and his girlfriend lost
control of their car, crossed the medium strip and hit a tractor trailer
head on, killing them both. I think that if I had acted I might have blamed
myself for a death, a very heavy burden to bear.

try to find out when the store is not so busy and shop then. beats
getting all steamed. If I go to Costco in the morning it's busy as
hell. If I go around 7PM it's usually slow and check-out is a breeze.
Learn to go with the "flow"...

at Kmart the lady in front of me put a $5 bill in to pay for her purchase at
one of the self serve registers. It gave her back change for a $50, she
asked to see the manager. When he came by she explained that the machine had
given her the wrong change, holding up the money in her hand. He flatly told
her that that machine didn't make mistakes. She smiled broadly and said, "
Thank you very much!" and left. It didn't like my $5 as much, needless to
say.

Well, I'm talking about the 3 stores in the Louisville, Ky. area, and nope,
the newest one has been open for a little over 5 years. I have stopped in
stores from Indianapolis to Nashville, to Knoxville and had basically the
same service. My job don't get me any farther northeast than Columbus, Ohio,
thank goodness. Especially in the winter months. It's bad enough driving in
the south in the winter! As I said, it's my opinion, and my experiences with
them. That's why we're on the wRECk, and in America. Every one is free to
voice their own opinion.

Yes business memberships allow the small business folks to get in and out
without fighting the regular consumers during the first hour of the morning.
Getting a cup of coffee to wait with would hardly stress out the business
customers. The policy is probably sound, but the enforcement of it seemed
over the top.

I was recently in HD and had the same experience; just went in to buy
a box of drywall screws, and had to get in line behind a half dozen
others at the only checkout that was open. Here is what I did:

I spoke up to the customer ahead of me, "I SUBSCRIBE TO
REC.WOODWORKING!"

"Oh excuse me sir, please go ahead of me."

I continued this with each customer ahead of me and quickly reaced
the head of the line. Once there, the cashier said, "Sir, you
can't just barge ahead of all these people who were in line before you."

I simply replied, "I SUBSCRIBE TO REC.WOODWORKING"

"Oh, I'm very sorry, sir, of course we will take care of you first.
Please accept my apologies for questioning you."

By this time the manager had taken notice of the commotion and made
his way over to the register. "What is going on here? Is there a
problem sir?"

I told him "I SUBSCRIBE TO REC.WOODWORKING." and immediately he said,
"Oh, sir, we are so pleased to have you shopping in our store! Please
accept those drywall screws as a gift from HD! And here is a
certificate for 50% off on your next purchase. May I carry those
screws to your car for you?"

So, you see, you really can solve all of life's big problems, right
here, on REC.WOODWORKING.

Around here, most places seem to be having a hard time finding enough
folks to hire to be cashiers. What the reason for that, I don't know,
but those self serve things alleviate the problem and I find them
quite handy. Even ran a bunch of those trademen clamps thru (scanning
the clamps wasn't the problem; loading them into ONE bag was and the
system got unhappy when I moved them off the scale thingie).

For the particular incident cited, yes. However, I have seen this
attitude in many places: The drivers who don't seem to see the "lane
ends 500 ft" sign, plowing ahead in order to get ahead of those drivers
who do wait in line, the person who is just sure that paying by credit
card in the cash only line is OK -- for them. Numerous other examples
abound.

Well, Borders sells books.
HD sells ... EVERYTHING. It's probably much easier to train a new
Borders cashier than a HD one.

Also, Borders employees don't have to stand there and explain how to
read a book to every Joe Homeowner that comes in. They are probably
more often available to come up and check you out.

Do you want to be a Home Depot cashier?
Your answer to that question may be why there aren't enough HD
cashiers.

BTW, I've had GREAT service at my local HD. I bought a couple storm
doors to put on the house, and due to a miscalculation, they wouldn't
fit in the car. So I went to their "rent a truck" place, only to find
that the truck was already rented by someone else. The
rent-a-truck-desk guy asked where I lived, so I told him. (It wasn't
just a hop, skip, or jump away by the way.) He immediately told his
coworker that he'd be back soon, and said he'd follow me in his pickup
with my doors. I tried to tip him when we got to my house, but he
simply said, "Thanks for shopping at Home Depot. Come back soon!"

Just my 2 cents,
Adam

For me, the big savings is gas at Costco. Most local stations average
a minimum 5 cents a gallon higher than Costco, the only one that is
within a penny only takes cash, debit card, or one of their gift cards.
This other station's gift cards are fine if you fill up exactly with the
full amount of the card, otherwise you get socked an extra amount (think
its 50 cents) every time you use that card. So Costco gas is much more
reasonable and less hassle than anywhere else.

I have a grizzly 5hp cabinet saw. it was the best purchase i ever
made. i have 3 grizzly 14.4v cordless drills. that was the worst
purchase i ever made. they are truly the cheapest pieces of crap i
have ever wasted money on. i vowed not to purchase any of their other
small power tool (even though the prices make it tempting). it's just
not worth it if you get a piece of junk in the mail. be careful with
that grizzly sander option.

i refuse to use the HD self checkout. it's just another excuse for
them to put fewer cashiers on duty. i have 3 HD within 20 minutes of
me. most of the time their is only ONE cashier on duty. they rely on
self checkout too heavily. when they lower their prices because of
the labor savings or give a discount at the self scan, then i'll start
using them. until then, i buy everything i can at real stores.

problem is, charles, their prices are nowhere near low enough to make
up for the complete lack of service and ever increasing lack of
selection. it is no secret that the everage HD employee, bearing an
apron reading "i help in all departments", doesn't even know WHERE
most of those departments are in the store. not to mention the fact
that even if they know "where" they sure as hell dont know "what" or
"how to". I get by in those hell holes because (unfortunately) i have
been in them enough to know my way around. i sepnd more time in there
helping lost customers than the employees do. I have on several
occasions overheard HD employees giving completely incorrect
directions to "joe homeowner" as if he were an expert in the field.
and "yes" i wait until that person walks away and i set them straight.

back to the pricing... sure they are lower. if you dont care what
brand you buy. i am a serious woodworker, you sure as hell wont find
a $10 skil sander in my shop. HD owns most of the names on the
merchandise in their stores. everything from tools to light fixtures.
the HD that first opened up in my area almost 10 years ago carried
MIlwaukee, PC, Bosch, Makita. Now all you see is that Ridgid crap,
skil, ryobi. poorly made and overpriced for what it is.

So the answer is "HELL YES I PAY MORE DOWN THE STREET" because I get
a BETTER PRODUCT, BETTER SERVICE, AND BETTER PRICES BY COMPARISON".

PS. sorry charles, not a personal attack. I just hate the hopless
depot.

of course not, dave. they don't know and certainly don't care. but
sometimes in life you have to do things solely on principal. i have
to look at myself in the mirror every morning to shave. this is
something i feel strongly about (and yes i know it is something
infinitely small compared to the big picture).

dude, can i come to your fairy tale HD? if something like that ever
happened to me in HD, i would surely faint. my favorite is when you
wait inline for 15 minutes and the cashier turns her light off just
befoe you get to the register and just looks at you and walks away.
and i dont want to hear anyone say i'm overreacting, that has
happened to me several times at different stores. their service just
plain sucks.

maybe that's the problem, jack. people are to willing to settle for
less. think about it. you're willing to walk into a dirty store and
be treated poorly in order to save a few dollars. very sad thought
that the average person can be bought for a couple bucks.

they should recognize me. in 2003 i put a total of $116,680.00 on
company's depot charge (and yes i paid every dime of it). i may not
be their biggest customer (nor are they my biggest supplier), but
you'd think ching like that would warrant some consideration.

depends on what you use them for. for cabinet work anything bigger is
a waste of money and energy (those 18V drills weigh a damn ton). i
have 9 in the shop right now (not counting those threee crappy
grizzly's). most are 12v makita, hitachi, bosch, or milwaukee. have
a 15.6V metabo. great tool. smooth action. but to heavy to use all
day long. i have to chuckle when i see joe homeowner toting around
his new 18V cordless that some idiot at HD suckered him into. stop
watching Tim Allen. its not just about power. most of the 18V's
i've handled are too heavy, poorly balanced, and too large to get into
small spaces.

the best cordless i've run across thus far is the 14.4V Bosch Compact.
Bosch makes a great tool. the weight is very comfortable and its
compact frame makes its very practical for shop work. They run
$150-$170 around here, but worth it. after my experiance with the
grizzly garbage, i'm planning to pick up 3 or 4 of the Bosch.

If someone has something similar to the Bosch that i may not have
thought of, please let me know (before i shell out $650 for a few more
shop drills).

They don't measure it that way. Businesses measure labor cost per time
period (ie, month or quarter). In that way, someone costing (including
taxes, health plan, 401K, etc...), say $30K/year (wild guess, donlt know
what the total cost of a $10/hour employee actually is) would make a
significant impact on labor expenses. At the local Hd they have one
person manning 4 self checkout stations, that means that the labor cost
went down to 1/4th (assuming 4 cashiers were replaced). Even if you say
4 self checkouts replace 3 cashiers, that's a hell of a savings from a
business point of view.

I wish that was the same here. I avoid them like the plague because I
_always_ get in line behind some slow idiot that can;t figure it out.
The helper is usually helping some other slow idiot at the time, so the
wait is excruciating.

Very few people in USA really hurt for a job. Unemployment's too low

I see way too many of those people every day, the people who figure
that they can violate any law, break any rule, do anything they want
to do because they're special.

When you purchase a membership at one of those clubs, you agree to
follow their rules. Let's face it, it's their store, their coffee,
their rules. They have every right to tell you what you can and
cannot do on their property, and if you don't like it, you have a
right to take your business elsewhere.

Yours must work better than mine...ROYAL PITA, always screaming at me for
"last item not properly placed..." (when that little computer voice comes up
I'm always thinking of "placing" it somewhere)...and forget lumber on those
things since you have to "bother" the "Wizard of self-checkout" and that is
not a pleasant experience since he/she thinks his/her job is to yak with
his/her pals with the expectation that everybody is buying small things that
scan and can be put in the bagging area.without his/her intervention. And
whatever you do, do not buy loose bolts, lag screws or the like that require
the "wizard" to consult the "book". You could mine the iron ore, smelt it
and mix in the other ingredients for steel, then thread the stuff and
cut/shape, get a haircut, shoe-shine, oil change and face-lift faster than
they can figure out the price for a few 30 cent pieces.

I used to feel the same way. Just last month at BJ's I saved $100 on a TV
over the price at Best Buy. That is enoughto pay for my membership for 2 1/2
years. Want more examples? I put pork loin for $1.79 a pound, same thing
as the $4.99 stuff at the Stop & Shop. Not everything is a bargain, but I
watch priceas and I know I save quite a ibt of money every month. At
BJ's,. no hoops either.

Now, why would you try to run lumber thru one of those things? They
don't have a hand held scanner, so you gotta kinda figure that cashier
assistance would be required for something like lumber, and go thru a
regular check out. Aything I can't lift (weight or size) to scan, I
go thru a regular check out and let the cashier handle it w/the hand
scanner.

Well, I've been reading this thread and getting quite a laugh, until now. I
got to chime in about this one. Never ever have I been asked to leave an
aisle so they could use a lift truck. I have had the guys help me load
stuff, maybe to get me out of the aisle faster, but never, never asked to
leave so they could pull a lift in and use it. All the employees and
managers are very helpful at the 3 I frequent. They went out of their way to
get me some drawer bails that the mfg. quit supplying when I built LOML's
bedroom suite. As far as a receipt, my Ridgid shop vac of 4 years crapped
out just 2 weeks ago. Hell, I'm lucky to have receipts from 4 weeks ago,
much less 4 years. I took it back, the lady at the returns called back to
the hardware guy, he came up, looked at it, asked me what happened, I told
him it took a dump. He said wait just a sec. He came back with a brand new
16 gallon vac, hoses and all. And I didn't even take the old hose and
fittings. He said have fun with it, if anything ever happens to any of the
other tools I've bought there, bring 'em back. Maybe <notice the correct way
to spell it> I'm one of the few, but I'm proud of the service I got! No
disrespect to any of the Marines out there. <G> Again, just my nickels
worth.

There is also the sometimes fallacy that the you're saving the few
bucks at the Borg and it's worth the grief to get them.

A coupla examples:

1) A few days ago, I decided to build an overhead rack to store some
lumber in my garage. I have open I-joists so I installed some
blocking between them and dangled some three-foot lengths of ½"
threaded rod down to support the rack. After putting some load on it
I decided I better add a couple of more rods. It's a 20-mile round
trip to HD but only five miles to a little one-man hole-in-the-wall
hardware store out here in the country where I live. The $3.87 each
rods at HD cost $2.99 at the Do-It-Best, or whatever it's called.

2) I added some grounding to a ham radio tower of mine. AWG 6 bare
copper, fifty cents a foot at HD, 30 cents at a local electrical
supply place that caters to DIY.

When I built my house addition a few years ago I found a lot of this.
If you're buying one do-dad at HD and it's 47 cents versus 33 cents
someplace else, you probably don't care. But when you buy a hundred
do-dads, that 30% lower cost is real money. The specialty shops gave
better service, had knowledgeable help and very often lower prices.
They also offered quantity discounts.

My Two Cents
HOME DEPOT SUCKS.....Employyes are rude and most dont have a clue If you
cant find what you want they certainly wont. They only stand behind thier
products if you have a reciept (mabey) They close lanes and bring in the
fork lift while your shopping in it and tell you to leave. Shop at the
little guys they appriciate you more and your dollrs mean more to them than
any home depot store manager. I say Use the sander blow it off and bring
it back.

I had the same experience a few weeks ago.

While waiting in line, I asked the clerk to have the manager ask for help.
She did. He came on the intercom and told someone to help check out.
Nobody showed up so I called the store from my cell phone and asked for the
manager. I got right to him. I told him that his employees were ignoring
his directive. A short while later, several employees literally ran to the
front of the store.

Sweet victory.

switch to decaf, spend some quality time in the shop and don't let the
little things bother you so much. I'm not making light of what happened
believe me, but your physical and mental health are going to suffer.

I speak from first hand experience, for 13 years I had suffered from it
until I learned to calm down and not let the 'little things' get to me so
much. Now for the last 3 years my blood pressure has 'eased down' and my
'nerves' are much better. This is what lead me to woodworking in the first
place.

It's probably not the standing in line, but the one clerk that is the issue.
There are two Border's Bookstores in my area. Both are *excellent* at
opening more registers whenever there gets to be a line. The only time I've
had to stand in line > 5 minutes is Christmas season. ;-)

It just about a mile or so north of the Snyder. Let's see, just a couple
blocks north of Southern High. Right across the street from Thorntons, and
behind Micky D's. There's a Sprint store and a mattress store in front.

Thanks for all the replies guys- I do appreciate advice, and take it to
heart. Turns out I really like the sander, it has much less vibration then
the 6" PC. It is made in Germany, and the quality shines through. It has
that certain "feel" like my Metabo 13V cordless drill that is difficult to
explain. I'll keep this one, but continue to spend my money at Jerry's ( a
local HD competitor with comparable stock and prices).
