Is it safe to make a dado cut with the dado blade-set adjusted to say a 12
to15 degree angle? I've seen Norm use his Radial Arm saw, with a dado
blade, to do this sort of thing many times but never his table saw.
This is the kind of cut you would need to make for a table with angled legs
that gets a shelf in the dado, for example.

We have done it a few times. As Tom said it's best to make a new insert as
tilting the dado set will make the original insert hole too large. Cheers, JG

Absolutely. However you may want to use an auxiliary fence with a stop on
you miter gauge to help you hold the work piece in place.
Yes you can and like others have said, make you insert for this. Also be
careful that you do not cut too high as one side might peek through the top
of the piece.

Can a compound cut also be made safely, where you need to tilt the dado
blade set and also set the angle the wood relative to the blade using a
miter guage?
