Does anyone have experience with this product. I have the oil based
product not the water based. I have a few questions:
Can you thin it with mineral spirits?
Does it dry hard. I spread some on ash took off the excess waited 2
days and its still kind of like soft modeling clay. I was expecting
it to get hard?
Can you tint it with alcohol based analine dye?
Thanks.

Yes, it can be thinned with mineral spirits. Or paint thinner. Or
turpentine. Best is naptha (lighter fluid).
No, it does not dry hard. It is a mix of stain (optionally), thinner and
silex (fine silica). You put it on liberally, let it set a bit so it looks
duller (which is why naptha is a better thinner, it dries faster) and then
you RUB IT OFF with something coarse like burlap or an old bath towel. Rub
cross grain as what you are trying to do is fill the pores. Instructions
are on can, I bet. :)
