Cool Clocks:

There are loads more free plans on the web for your searching. Use
google, but don't waste your money on this ripoff!
the 'software' consists of a catalog of woodgrain images with the type
of wood it is. It looks to be images downloaded from some website I've
seen before that's free and has a larger variety of woods. Here's a link
to tropical wood identification:
http://www.panda.org/about_wwf/what_we_do/forests/solutions/what_you_can_do/consumers/list_of_wood.cfm
I'll see if I can find the url to that wood reference and post it as
well or perhaps someone else knows it.
The 'conversion' software is very feature POOR and there are plenty of
online conversion software that has more features (and is free as
well).
The cd they sent only had links to about the 1st half of the links I
listed above (most of which I already had). The bottom section weren't
included and I did leave off two or three links to different projects
on the same site that was on their CDROM, since it was redundant anyway.
There's a number of sites that offer wood profiles (woodgrain images),
here's a few

Well, actually not. Most usenet servers only store posts for a limited
period of time. Also, a large number of usenet readers (people, not
nntp clients) sort posts by date and browse usenet newsgroups in that
manner.
Having been in the IT industry for 23 years and originally using usenet
via a unix nntp client way back to just after the ARPAnet days, I'd say
I have a fair understanding of how usenet works.
But, given everyone's apparent concern, perhaps the best way to keep
this information available would be to put it on a webpage somewhere
and adding a useful signature to every post I make, pointing to that
website.
I mean, I don't want to waste precious bytes of newsgroup storage on
the usenet servers out there, so I wont waste my sig line with a
meaningless quote or quip droned on and repeated endlessly....

OK. Thanks
It did not work for me (newsreader Agent), and neither would it for
Outlook Express, in many cases.
Even if it did work, I wouldn't do it too often. I appreciate your
reasons, but people don't take well to being manipulated more than
once.

Apparently he thinks it works like a web-based message board.
AAMOF, maybe he is reading this group on such a board, I know of at
least one board that is nothing more than a feed from this group.

It's best not to use "bump" It is a registered trademark of a soft
drink company in France and they will pursue all non-authorized use of
the term with expensive legal action.

Seems like a reasonable use of .sig space.
This input comes from someone who has just added a meaningless quip just
recently.
