CARROLL TOWNSHIP -- The war in Iraq has hit a little closer to home with the
news that the Mid-Mon Valley suffered its first civilian fatality as a
result of the conflict.
Dale Stoffel, 43, was one of two men killed by insurgents last week in an
ambush near Baghdad.
It was learned later that Stoffel, who was a partner of Robert Irey at CLI
Corp. in Cecil, was a resident of Carroll Township. Stoffel was the
company's executive vice president of International Development for the
company
"We are just stunned and devastated by what has happened," said Irey. "It is
hard to believe that Dale is no longer with us."
