Well, see, if you pay less attention to your woodworking (or
your cats (see the Newsgroups: line of the header), or the
formation of Usenet newsgroups (ditto)), you'll have more
time for worthwhile concerns like watching television, and
celebrity endorsements, and celebrities in general, and this
would somehow make the world a better place to live. Or
something.

In my case it allows me, and I assume others, to filter out posters who troll -
and those who respond to trolls and cross post into several NGs while doing it.
