OT: Filter B4/After Pressure Tank?

I have a well and pump. The pump is the submersible type down in the
well. The water line enters the house and then travels a bit to an air
tank thing that supposedly regulates the pressure.

I want to add a filter to the system - not a dense "taste and odor"
affair, but one the basically traps bits of soil and such.

Initially, I thought to install it before the pressure tank figuring
the pump would push the water through and be able to pressurize the
system.

But I thought to "ask around" before cutting into my system.

Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? Or, know of a site
where I might get some information/answers?

Thank you.

Sounds like an accumulator to me.

Doesn't regulate pressure directly but does limit pressure deviations.

Usually installed after the tank. There's a ton of information on the net
about your options. Any google search will give you more to look at than
you probably even care to see.
