The bacon is the gravy, the saved crops pays for the helicopter and the
shooters.

All I can tell from the video is they need better shooters or a mini
gun, a lot of pigs seemed to get away.

That could be some expensive bacon...what does a helicopter cost, close to $500/hr?

AR platforms in .308 are common nowadays, plus I saw shotguns in some of the
footage.

People seem to think that there are two kinds of ammunition, .22 rimfire
and huge. I remember the New Haven police chief standing up before the CT
legislature and claiming that 5.56mm NATO was "the biggest bullet he had
ever seen", which the legislature seemed to accept but which totally
destroyed his credibility with anybody who had any familiarity with
firearms.
A variety of weapons were depicted in that video though--there were a few
frames in which someone appeared to be using a shotgun but most seemed to
be small caliber. Not a .50 cal machine gun in sight though.

It looked a lot bigger than a .223 to me. I wouldn't think that would
be a great round for a boar, in any case.
