If you are in western washington you might want to keep an eye out or
the James G Murphy auctions. They often have woodworking equipment at
some of their police seizure, heavy truck and cars and other
auctions. JUst make sure to check the catalogs. The University of
Washington also has surplus auction. One more avenue is to visit
Boeing Surplus in Kent.

Varoius pieces of equipment have found a home in my shop from all of
these sources.

If you want good machines it will take awhile...friends tell me that
it is getting harder and harder to find good machines these days.

I would run ads in Craigslist and in the local newspapers stating what
you are looking for...run them once a month.

Meanwhile monitor Craigslist and use Ebay to look for local offferings
along with the other sources that have been mentioned.

Keep track of your time and you will see why I suggest dumping the
home furniture before your tools when one relocates...the furniture is
much easier to replace. Of course you need a wife with the right
priorities...or get one that does. :<)

Since you don't mention WHERE in Washington you are located, I would
also expand your search by watching neighboring states...a roadtrip to
pick up a machine can be a great adventure.

Anyone want to volunteer a story behind getting a machine?

Good luck with the hunt,

TMT

I would suggest that you check out the univ of washington. They have a
surplus sale quite often . The surplus was down below and in back of the
univ police dept. You need to preregister or at least use to.
