UPS man came a few minutes ago, with I package I've been waiting
on. 74 lbs worth. He asked where I wanted it, I told him the truck
hood. He saw my little folding hand cart, and asked if I didn't want it
anywhere else. I told him if he could set it in the shop (only about 10
feet from the truck), I would really appreciate it. And he did. Good
Karma always pays off.
I got me a (used, of course) Delta 12" portable planer, Model
22-546, Type 2. A friend bought a bigger one, and gave me this one,
for the price of the shipping, $51 and change. Hehehe, can't beat that,
says I. But, after opening the box, I know now why he was so generous.
He wanted some way to get rid of all those little styrofoam packing
thingies he had. What a PITA. Back rather. Had to stop half-way thru
bailing them out of the box, my back wouldn't take it any more.
Manuals, instructions, spare blades, the whole package. I can hardly
wait until I can figure out where the Hell I am going to be able to
clear enough space to put it, and get started painting it yellow. LOL
Probably be at least a week before I can get everything shifted
around and space made for it. I did say I've got a small shop, didn't
I? And, my younger son's got a batch of crap stored in it? But, I'll
figure something out. Hehehehe
Basically, life is good.

Yeah, I know. Everyone gets sucked in and stuff. I can't really see it
happening to me, but maybe I'm being naive. :)

Let him know the day after if he's over 18. :)

He'll paint it yellow with blue lighting bolts I expect.
Can't say I'm really jealous. What would I do with a planer? I already
have a serious problem trying to figure out where the hell I'm going to put
my JET mini lathe after Christmas.
Only two more years until I can afford a new shop. Two more years...
BTW, JOAT, you suck!
