CleanUp Old Oak Barrel

Have an old oak barrel I am using to build a patio bar. Barrel was stained
and finished at one time. Is not heavily weathered, generally gray in
color. Want to clean it up and re-stain and finish it. Any suggestions on
cleaning it up?

Thanks
MB

Any stripper containing methylene chloride should work fine for
removing the old finish and stain.
