What has replaced nitro lacquer.

What has replaced nitrocellulose lacquer
as the most common furniture finish?

Thanks in advance

Variety.

When nitrocellulose was in use, it was pretty much the only high-speed
finish possible. Now there's thousands of the things. There hasn't
been a straight swap over to "Boggin's No.4 nitro-substitute
pre-catalysed acrylic"

Although pre-catalysed acrylics probably are the nearest.
