Hotmelt adhesive gun review.

I use hotmelt adhesive a lot in my shop. Never as a permanent
solution, but as a clamp, extra hand, for something fast. And for
making 1/8" x 3" strip luan templates.

I bought some 3M TC guns about 25 years ago, and short of a
replacement tip, they're still in service in my old business.

I wanted to buy them again but the price these days (around $ 100.00)
was just a bit silly.
So I bought a couple of Arrow guns and they're okay for a hobbyist but
they just don't stand up to my kind of use. The up-side is that they
take 1/2" sticks which are available everywhere.

Now 3M has an AE gun:

I bought a 5-pack of them and they've been in use for about 3 months
now. Two on the truck, two in the shop, one in my tool box.
Unlike the TC version, this one takes off-the-shelf 1/2" sticks.
(Which can be bought in bulk at VERY serious saving.)
Warm-up is just a couple or three minutes and through-put is more than
adequate for my use. The super-fast warm-up is nice so I no longer
have to leave one plugged in so it is ready.

There are 2 ways to 'park' it on included wire stands.

And they have an ON light...very nice.

Highly recommended.

Last I heard, it was closer to $ 9.00 per pack of 25 smokes. In
Kanuckistan anyway.

A lot of quitters return to smoking. The cravings due continue for
6-12 months, but they will eventually subside. Congratulations for
making a healthy choice, now go buy your favorite tool with the money
saved!

Have you ever tried those "Wood glue" sticks? Just curious if there's
something to them, or if they're just brown hot melt glue.

Savings from quitting a 2 pack a day habit for one year =3D $2920
(@ $4.00 / pack). That should cover a new PM66 plus a WWII
blade plus running the Romex and installing the drop panel.

Where I come from they are white. They are slightly different to the
standard adhesive but not very.

One month, three days, 10 hours, 24 minutes and 38 seconds. 413 cigarettes
not smoked, saving £92.97. Life saved: 1 day, 10 hours, 25 minutes. Going
all the way this time.

Beer and pizza taste better now?

Ten years quit, the only new years resolution I've ever made --
and kept. You'll occasionally crave a smoke for the next ten
months, but if you've gotten this far, you have every chance of
winning.

I have some 4" sticks in different colours, including brown and even
gold metal-flake. Never had use for them yet. So, I'm curious what
those sticks are that you mentioned. I'll Google a bit.

Dude! Congrats. You'd be nuts to start after having made this much of
a commitment.

I now, officially, with the powers invested in me, pronounce you a non-
smoker.

No such thing for someone who's quit.
Once the addiction has set in, there's
always a temptation.

I offer my congratulations too Tim.
