I have a friend who has just bought a sailboat, and says it is in need of
some interior repairs. He said he found some 1/2" interior/exterior birch
plywood at HD and asked if that would work, is there a more suitable
material that should be used?
Not knowing nuttin about them sailboats, I told him I would ask here in the
NG. If the information ain't available here, then a person just don't need
to know.
Thanks,
John
Nope - a spoonful of gravy and taters - but that's about it. Should've
spoken up sooner. :-)

As a general rule, whatever type of wood you find at the HD, it's probably
not suitable for a boat.
The way it is asked, your question can't be answered.
What type of boat, wood, fiberglass, etc?
What type of repair, structural, cosmetic, etc?

From my understanding it is just interior cosmetic repairs, maybe the deck
needs patching or maybe the floor (if sail boats have a floor), like I said,
I don't know the first thing about sail boats, just thought someone here
might.. Don't know what the hull is made of.
