Damn shame, Puff. Keep your head up.

Okay, so this is my new sig line, eh?
I interpreted his comment as to explain that it probably wasn't something he
did wrong. Just a victim of circumstance. I don't see where he's reveling.
Just my observation...

that's cool! I know the feeling of being misunderstood
quite well. :) hope your co-workers and you find equal or
better employment soon.
I see how I misinterpreted your earlier post; you left off a
semi-colon after "thankful". That would have changed the
meaning of the sentence to you were thankful that you got
laid off without much investment of time at the company.

That's a bummer for you ...apparently management doesn't have the
intelligence to NOT hire new employees a week before layoffs of that
magnitude? I am surprised some enterprising lawyer hasn't found this
scenario fertile ground for lawsuits.
I have a friend who works in IT for a large airline ... the stories he tells
of management incompetence are chilling.
I predict that these manifestations of the "dumbing down" are just beginning
... in 20 years this is going to be a third world country with English as
its second language.

I'd only argue about the timing. I figure 10-15 years.

You know, you make John Birchers look positively left-wing. Not that
I have anything against Birchers, but have found that they typically
focus on the wrong problems.
Your conspiracy theories remind me of an incident several years ago in
which an older friend of ours showed us a clipping from some paper that
had a picture of a Russian SA-6 missile system moving through the
mountains of California. To the writer of the article, this was
evidence of the new world order and how equipment was already being pre-
positioned for the takeover of the US by this new world order. Now,
having been associated with various things going on in the mountains and
deserts of California, I just had to laugh -- the equipment being moved
was being moved by "our" guys and was most likely captured or procured
equipment from who knows where. Rather than being pre-positioned for
take-over, it was there in order to provide realistic test scenarios for
our own equipment being flown against it. What better way to test out
new systems than by flying them against the real thing?

Best treatment for this guy (other than the straitjacket he so richly deserves)
is to kill file him. I did a fair amount of time ago, and it was a real stunner
to find him tagging along commenting on one of my notes.

Why should G-d prosper the English-speaking Americans when we're
unwilling to confront the obvious and provable unrighteousness of the
Bush/Rome/Rockefeller/CFR/CIA Anti-Christ's treason that gave us Hitler,
McCarthyism as cover for the "Operation Ratline" Vatican/NaziSS
"getaway," Vietnam, the Kennedy/King assassinations, Watergate,
IranContra, Clinton, 99.4%, by diocese, RC pedophile priesthood, and
9/11/Afganistan/Iraq for Roman Catholic Big Oil as the pump price keeps
rising?

Puff,
Did they pay you for the week you worked ?
I've been in a similar situation, wasn't even around long enough for the
'paperwork' to go through and never got paid.
{Yes - went to the 'State Authorities', and that was a ridiculous waste of
time and a LOAD of aggravation. Also, it would have cost more in legal fees
than I would 'recover', to go with a 'private' attorney}

A simple misunderstanding Dave I was saying I don't have it as bad as they
do. I guess I said it wrong.

I got paid on one of those back when I was in college. Simply dropped the
business owner a note saying I was not happy and would head to the authorities
if I didn't get a resolution from him. Got the resolution in a week. Maybe
less. That was nearly 40 years ago.
If you're gonna mess with a lawyer, do the 50% fee bit and add pain and
suffering and mental anguish to the list.

Jeesh! Who's managing that company? They need to talk to personnel and
let them know to freeze the hiring 'cause a reduction is coming! Sorry
you got caught up in that mess!
