approx match for this stain?

hey all,

i'm going to be staining some cheap pine (2x4's, 2x8's) and would like
them to arrive within the same color ballpark as a desk already in my
room. doesn't have to be perfect. the surface in question is luaun,
stained with ACE Hardware "Great Finishes" Shaker Pine followed by
several layers of Butcher's Wax. the original can of stain is
currently 2000 miles away, and the local ACE doesn't carry it.

obviously i can go looking for a 'shaker pine' at other local shops and
maybe mix in a few drops of something darker, but figured i'd post here
on the off chance that someone happens to have a particular
recommendation.

cheers!

Take a piece of the wood and a sample to the local Sherwin-Williams or
other name brand paint store. They will work with you to find a stain
that is a very close match. Matcing stain is tricky business if you are
very fussy. Simply sanding one grit finer or wiping down the wood with
Naptha can change the final color.
